One thing I have noticed is that sometimes my cities will skip a production turn.
There will be X number of turns left on whatever is being produced and
on the next turn it is still X and not X-1. It happens often so it's either a bug or
something that I don't understand.

I've noticed this when a city grows, tiles are re-evaluated, and citizens re-assigned. Sometimes the governor sees more value in working less hammers & more specialists etc. You can avoid this by turning off the governor and assigning the citizens yourself. When the city grows you'll need to check to be sure the "new guy" is doing what you want him to do.

One solution could be, that your town had the 1st cultural radius of 1 square and when the cultural radius expanded, a new field with better food, but less production, went available and was used instead of an inner field with less food but more production.
Thus can even happen, if the town is set to production as priority ...

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.
Let me just take this opportunity to say "thank you" to alexman and the programmers as whole for working on this. Though it's been delayed, it appears to be well worth it. This patch will do for BtS what BtS did for Civ 4.
I am very glad to see that the responses here have been so overwhelmingly positive. I was absolutely appalled at the immature and rude treatment of alexman on "that evil non-Greek site" and the flame war that quickly ensued. It only serves to reinforce my opinion of Apolyton as a place of greater intellect and deeper commitment to the game. Cheers.

There's another Civ site out there?
