Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Bummer - I was really hoping the game would save the last setting on "Custom Game" and it still doesn't. I only play custom games and each time have to reset all the settings I want.
But what is pretty cool is the new: Change Production item when you right click a city..

The other problem I see in this file but that shouldn't be related to my problem is that most of these "localized" strings aren't translated.

Except for 2 strings, none have been localized, which result in a mix of languages when not playing in English.
Not pleasant.
I have translated French strings for myself before it comes with the next patch.
Hugely improved. I just got back from a cruise to the Bahamas and the few hours I spent playing version 1.52 were a delight. I wasn't having many problems beforehand, but with the patch the game runs MUCH more smoothly. Plus the various tweeks and adjustments are excellent and well chosen.
Good job Firaxis!
One of these days I'll make 501 posts, and you won't have to look at my silly little diplomat anymore.
"Oh my God, what a fabulous room. Are all these your guitars?"
I downloaded the patch while I was nearing the end of an epic game. I was sailing to a confortable win, with reasearch level at 90% untill the patch was loaded. I like to keep research at no less than 80% but with the patch I had to drop to 70% so it must have adjusted the maintenence costs or something to make running your empire more expensive.
Still, it's made a hell of a difference to preformance and not a single glitch now.
Cheers guys, nice work. Couldn't nip over to the Egosoft office and show them how to fix X3 now could you?
After extensive play testing I can conclusively say that this patch has made the game far worse then the previous patch. The game now freezes up upon entering the gamespy lobby 3 times out of 4 and the few games I am able to get started are usually out of sync. The out of sync hardly happened before this patch and the freezing upon entering gamespy's lobby never happened before this patch.
The box in the MP lobby which shows which games are new is nice but I'd gladely get rid of it if I could once again have a playable game. I am deeply disappointed by Firaxis's continual lack of meaningful amounts of play testing before they release their patches. I have to wonder how these guys stay in business.
I was playing my first game in a Large size world, hit the 20th century and the game would grind to a halt after 1 or 2 turns. Memory usage was close to 600megs physical and about the same virtual.
After updating to 1.52 I loaded the same game, it played fine with no bogging down. Memory used was down to 540 megs physical and 460 virtual. Very nice.
Whoaa ! Much more impressive that what I did. My purpose was only to quickly get a French translation for the mostly used tags not yet translated. Not to revisit and fix everything...
Well, so far, standard maps run very quickly, but anything above that still drags in the mud (although not as bad as unpatched)
Wonder and intro movies still stutter...

I downloaded the patch just a week ago. I don't run multiplayer games, but the single player game is very nice, specially with the Marathon game speed...
