A non-square world system. Meaning you don't move from tile to tile and no squarey culture boundaries. Instead everything would be distance and more effected by geology.

I should be able to do that without messing with the XML files and such.

Well, the List for cIV came only a little too late, if too late at all(our ideas were incorporated to a much greater degree than in Civ3), and it came much later than where we are currently.

Did someone mention a civ2 option?

How about having a game engine and game graphics separated so that there can exist multiple graphical layers of varying complexity (and beauty) So if you have an old crappy computer, run civ 5 with the basic graphics and if not, run it at full spec.

This would enable more people to play the game without having to spend a weeks wages on upgrading their computer!
