    Small Pox in the New World comes to mind for events.

    I will have to think on more. Im notsure whats really possible with modding CIV IV.

          Independance movements come to mind (noteworthy the rebellion of the 13 colonies).

          Also, piracy was a big problem during the time the mod plays. So perhaps an option to turn frigates/galleons into privateers (still controlled or not by its homeciv).

            As well as independant pirates, or barbarian pirates. It would be nice if the appearence of those could be "scripted in" vice relying on barb cities to make them.

            Loss of ships at sea in a random manner might also be appropriate.

              Dale, do you plan on using the Explorer as a sort of 15-16th infantry unit? Just to have a bit more graphic variance in that time.

                  Possible Flavour events:

                  Event:
                  Thanksgiving

                  Conditions:
                  a) Must have at least one new world city,
                  b) First civ to sign peace treaty with an of the indian tribes

                  Effect:
                  a) Golden Age
                  or (if a GA seems too powerful) b) +1 health in the new world city closest to the relevant indian tribe



                  Event:
                  Famine of Winter, aka The Legend of Roanoke

                  Conditions:
                  a) Must have at least one new world city,
                  b) Winter season is active

                  Effect:
                  New world city loses half it's population




                  Event:
                  What do you mean the Chinese were here 300 years ago?

                  Conditions:
                  a) Must NOT be the first civ to make landfall in the new world
                  b) Must be the first civ to have a new world city reach size 3

                  Effect:
                  50% unhappiness in new world city

                    b) No indian civ can have been eliminated

                      I'm almost at the point of having a Beta ready for folks to playtest. From then on it's all downhill to the final release.

                      What's in now:
                      - Techs
                      - Units
                      - Full map (common resources in Europe, all in the New World)
                      - Set civilisations
                      - Colonisers and major Indians playable
                      - Starting caravels ready to settle the New World
                      - Spain and Portugal in historic exploration spot in New World

                      To be added before Beta1:
                      - Buildings
                      - Wonders

                      Plan for Beta2:
                      - Fix initial bugs
                      - Text updates
                      - Some python scripts
                      - Graphic icons
