    just some ideas:
    - increasing modifiers for resources from the new world would make them even more interesting for AI and players to get.
Especially trade bonuses. There's lots of new resources to discover and exploit, and you can add Plantation and Mine buildings like in the C3C scenario.

Separating Catholics and Protestants is a definite must. Otherwise you'll end up with buddy-buddy european powers.

How much civ 4 have you played? I've found it that I can usually mantain a much powerful empire by limiting the number of cities I have under what my economy can support. With the most cities, Spain will have to keep up with conquering the americas and getting loot back to keep up with the tech tree...

      On religions:

There's a number of non-Catholic religions that pop up during the tech-tree:
      - Lutherism
      - Protestant
      - Anglican
      - Presbyterian

      On resources:

The Old World only contains common resources. The New World contains all (including luxury) resources.

      Update:

      I'm currently adding in units.

I take it you are going to eliminate some of the old ones?

          1) Lutherans are the original Protestants, so considering this mod goes into the late 18th century, I'd say Protestantism is better than Lutherism, as later on Lutherism wouldn't apply much.

          2) Rather than having the indians spawn settlers when their cities are razed, I would suggest just having a few weak cities reserved in places where historically it took the west a long time to conquer. So in North America, this would be the midwest/west and in South America this would be the inner amazon. by making them weak, I mean perhaps not allowing them to do things the original cities could. For instance, say the Iroqois have in their "main" cities an invisible resource called "ancestral spirits" or something creative like that. The resource is required to be within city borders in order to create Immortals or a good, quick, offensive unit. The reserve cities don't have this resource, so they're not really a big player in the early game because they can't produce key units. But once the main cities are lost, the reserve cities are still able to defend themselves enough so as to not disappear and make it difficult to colonize deeper into the continent. Plus, no European units require the "ancestral spirits", so it essentially disappears after the city is razed.

              Bill3000:

Yes, only European religions (so Hindu, Judaism, Confu, etc will go) to make room for the new ones.

              Senormoll:

For the larger native Americans they will actually be a civ, but for the smaller tribes I'll be using barb cities for them instead. So the opportunity will exist to play a larger native American civ and see how you go against the European colonists.

Yes, of course, 2x300 years -> 600 turns

Man, i am waiting for this scenario since old good days of Colonization.

Are you thinking in some flavour events?

Your scenario looks awesome. Goes great with Neal Stephenson's "Quicksilver" I am reading right now.

Sure am. If you have any ideas for events (or if anyone else does too) then jot them down here. Include conditions and results for each event that you want.

Just a small nitpick - unless I am mistaken, on the last screenshot it says "researching Lutherism" - I think the proper word should be Lutheranism.

Also, you may wish to make the religions dependable on other inventions (like in vanilla civ) instead of being themselves inventions. For example, printing press should make a great basis for establishing Lutheranism.

Nitpick all you want. Things like that won't be correct unless someone points out my mistakes.

Anything else you see wrong at this point? I attached an excel file earlier in the thread with the entire tech tree if that helps.
