Mark, as an admin I'm surprised you weren't required to have better READING skills!

Did I refer specifically to this map? NO. I said "with large maps like these". Yes, I would expect those to be supported for the release since they ARE a part of the game.

Now just take your inane, rose-coloured responses and bugger off why don't you?

          Mark, you're an idiot.

You know that I was saying my complaint wasn't directed SPECIFICALLY TO THAT MAP BUT TO LARGE MAPS.

          Good bye to these forums.

Well I agree with you Michlo, I love the civ series and this game is great. But, I dont really see any point in actually playing the game unless I can use the huge maps, and I am very much experiencing this terrible memory leak or whatever people are referring to. It clogs the comp so bad and eventually crashes the game completely.

Im going to have to retire the game for now and wait for a fix. its just a shame I want to play so bad... my system is definately up to snuff to play it. Guess its back to world of warcraft till the problem is fixed. Love the map by the way its great and I look forward to completing a full game on it.

Is there any way of modifying the map to hold the specific civs I want it to hold, and how do I do that?
I'm a complete noob to these things...

I'm sad, the map is too big and it keep crashing when I reach the renaissance age. I wish there would be a smaller earth map with all the civs...

Great map but what's the projection of the map where the data was taken? I mean that land areas on the Northern hemisphere looks way too big when compared to equator areas.

I played the map for exactly 24Hrs and 4secs (I lost the space race) and I had ZERO slow downs or any issues to speak of regarding the map or game operations while in play - it was a solid experience.

                    Great job on the map!

you should open the WBS, and delete the player data for the civs you don't want, with the ones you want to keep shifting up (compare this WBS and the standard Earth). Player info should contain only LeaderType=NONE, CivType=NONE and Team number.

Then, delete corresponding team info as well.

Then, delete the "StartingPlot" line from the coordinates shown in the player data of the civs you have deleted.
delete corresponding team info as well. Don't delete the plot! Delete just the word "Starting Plot", which you can find at the plots coordinates!

It's easier to do than to explain.
Open the standard Earth map WBS and see the differences with this.

My computer can only barely play Standard maps ATM, any chance to get a smaller map in the future? I'd love to play an Earth map, but as of now my chances seems grim...
