How do you post the spoiler boxes in your text? I found something cool in a rock near Megaton but don't want to spoil it for those who are new to the game.
He's one of the Raiders you find underground who has an actual name. He's not encountered in a gang.
Also there is a goody cache near Megaton.
Spoiler:
Go SW from the town and examine the first few rocky outcrops you see there. I found a cache with a sniper rifle, a Stealth Boy, and a load of ammunition.
You're probably okay, I'd think ... depends on the 'slightly above'.
I have an Athlon X2 from around 2005 (don't recall which) , 2gb ram, and a 8600 512mb, and it runs beautifully (on nearly the highest settings). 8600 >> 6600, but I'd still think you could run it if you have a halfway decent CPU and >= 1GB ram.

So guys, do you think Fallout 3 will win the big GOTY awards? It's definitely a contender and I'm enjoying it a lot but I'm not sure it deserves the GOTY, it does have flaws in classic Bethesda style. Nothing that detracts too much from the overall game experience, but still.

Gears of War 2 is averaging 96% reviews, Fallout 3 93%.

Yeah, I meant PC GOTY. But does Gears have that much of a chance for GOTY? I think journalists will want to avoid giving GOTY to a (somewhat quick) sequel to a game that already won various GOTY awards. For consoles, I'd bet on GTA 4 as GOTY, it has an insane amount of press coverage and 98 on Metacritic. Though I won't pretend to really know what's going on in the console world.

Not a very sensible argument - look back at awards for last year. Many sequels like Halo 3 and CoD4 won lots of awards. And it's over 18 months since the GoW release.

It is top rated on metacritic, but I think GTA4 (which is also a sequel btw ) is one of those games that people look back on afterwards and wonder whether it deserved the universal praise. I'd expect it to pick up some awards (because it is quite innovative) but not to clean up.
For the 360 I think GoW2 will be really strong, with Fallout 3 and RB2 picking up a fair few awards. Then wider games like GTA4 & Braid.
What I'm saying is, Halo 3 is 3 years after Halo 2, CoD 4 was 2 years after the last PC installment and GTA 4 is, I think, 4 years after the last major game. So Gears 2, if given the awards, will make for a shorter break between awards in a series than usual.
As for myself, though, I still definitely think Mass Effect needs to get GOTY for the PC. It's not just a brilliant game, it actually takes some things to the next level. Fallout 3 is awesome but the openendedness is quite similar to Oblivion and the quests are like Fallout itself, that's very good but it's not breaking new ground.

You can't get more annual than that...
GoW2 is 2 years after GoW.

Can we get back to talking about playing fallout now and not speculating on awards that are probably semirandom anyway...
Like, how can I safely stash stuff so I can definitely find it again? I have ~15 weapons, and I like them all sometimes, but obviously can't carry them all with me. I haven't seen a home I can 'buy' yet ... and don't remember Oblivion well enough to remember how else I can manage this.

Well, assuming you disarm the bomb in Megaton, you'll be given a house there. If you blow it up, I assume you'll be given a suite in Tenpenny Towers. Aside from that, since indoor locations don't respawn, you can drop them inside the Super-Duper Mart after you've cleaned it out.
