13) What will the map travel look like? Is it a dotted line that slowly crawls towards the destination on the map, or Oblivion-type fast travel? And will there be random encounters during said map travel?
It works like Oblivion, it's a system we got great feedback on from that game and while we tossed other ideas around, it works best for us. It has a different flavor than Oblivion, in that when the game starts you don't know any locations, so you have to discover everything on foot, by yourself. The world map only acts to get you back to places you have already been.
Who told them the fast travel idea from Oblivion was good? Who!?

I'll second that, Having to repeat/backtrack in games multiple times is teh suck. That being said, fast travel is an option, you did not have to use it in oblivion.
Likewise, most of the stuff they used in oblivion was good IMO, I spent 120 hours playing that one, did have issues though, big ones, but nothing since has stolen that much time. We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

I like the idea of fast travel, but they did a much better job of blending it in in Morrowind. In Oblivion it felt like a last minute "Oh yeah, guys the world is ****ing huge and we took out the teleport spells. The guy that modeled the silt striders quit, so lets just make it so people can go wherever."

WTF... too realistic drug use? You don't think soldiers in the field use morphene?“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

The best I can hope for from Fallout 3 is that it will encourage me to finish the first game(keeping dogmeat alive!) and start the second(I can't bring myself to play it until I complete the first).
Fallout 3 is going to be such a console game, it's got no hope of achieving anything other than disappoint for me sadly.
And from that healthy gut feeling viewpoint I will look to rent it rather than buy it, just to prove my self correct, while not rewarding the downward spiral at Bethesda

Not sure if the game will be any fun, but it sure looks good.

I think a smaller party will be fine, as long as the dog isn't included. PC, plus pet, plus one replaceable stooge, makes a fine group. I'm sure it'll be easier to keep the difficulty balanced when you don't have to contend with parties of 1-6 characters.John Brown did nothing wrong.
