  • Emperor, if you're a console player, then go for the console, but I have noticed you're very strict on your spending, so just a heads up with the console.. buying games is damn expensive compared to PC.

Laptops are just not meant for gaming.

    • The whole reason I bought this damn machine (and not afraid to say it) was because I needed, sorry, NEEDED to play Civ IV. Problem is, it hasn't even been good enough for that!

But yeah, my maximum payment is $300 (for now.) And the XBox plus Fallout falls in that range. And Fallout is probably the only game I will buy besides GTA IV.

You can't rent games for the PC.

Not to burst your bubble, but the $200 Xbox probably won't come with a hard drive which would make downloadable content impossible. I don't know how much that matters to you though.

OK, yeah, cheapest option is to get a 360.

                • GT, check this out:

I don't think you can buy it (yet) but the concept is pretty neat for people who can only use one hand effectively...

By the way, you can use an X360 controller with your Windows PC (there are tons of instructions, just use google). So if you want to buy one and try it out, you could do so and use it with any game that can take gamepad input (many can).

The enemies aren't brilliant, but some do run away when hurt. That just means you need to shoot out their legs though.

Circle-strafing doesn't work, since you lose so much accuracy moving around. Besides, the enemies will just blast away at you.

I have more important things to pay for, like "food" and "rent" and "girlfriend" and "headshots".

And not the fallout kind of headshots.

                          • In that case you should probably consider buying whatever you can for your current setup. Looks odd to buy a console for one game to me, unless you think you can add more games easily later.

                              • The more I read about this, the more I'm liking it. Never could get Fallout to work properly via Gametap, but this does look like a hell of a good time. I just hope it is relatively bug-free.

I'm able to get Oblivion to run pretty smoothly on my PC, but I don't know if I'll risk it with Fallout. XBox may be the better option.
