  • You need to learn to use Google correctly, Asher.

First, you write a search. Like Carnival Funfair Games review. Then you click enter. Then, lo and behold, a result will show up:

The next step is fairly simple. You just skim through the results to check if some of them are relevant. Like this one:

Overall score on that site is as you can see 7/10. Of course, that is only one of the results, but I'll let you take it from here. It'd be good practice.

    • WTF is Google?

      Comment

      • I don't google game reviews because then you get ********* like Amazon.com users, "yetanotherreviewsite.com", or other crap.

Two of those games don't exist at all on the meta-game review sites, which means no reputable site has yet to review them. Which should tell you something.

Edit: It turns out "Carnival Funfaire Games" is actually called "Carnival Games" in the civilized parts of the world.

It got a 6.5 on IGN, with the summary of "Midway between mediocrity and misery". Spectacular.

Gamespot was less generous, giving it a 4.5:
Unless fumbling your way through half-baked minigames to win some virtual stuffed animals sounds like fun, you should leave this overpriced collection on the shelf.

          • I readily admit not to spend ample amounts of time dwelling on the spelling of a terrible game's title in every country it is released. I would give you a gold star, and another one for only finding a review for one of the two titles but pretending like both were available, but I have a feeling you wouldn't comprehend the sarcasm.

If you search IGN, Gamespot, GameRankings, or MetaCritic you'll see no result for "Carnival Funfaire Games" and I stand by that.

            • Funny how you think I believed it was two games.

And btw: If you go to ign.com, and search for Carnival Funfaire Games, you'll get two results. Not the exact title, but you of all should know that games often have slightly different titles around the world.

I've never heard of another title being released in another English country with a different name. This doesn't happen where I live.

Funny how you think I believed it was two games.
I listed 3 games. 1 I found reviews for. 1 you googled for. The other is not reviewed on any major site I can find.

You know what, nevermind. I'm tired of having to explain this **** to you.

You wonder why I don't like you...

Simple fact is this: Of the 3 games listed, they're all ****ing terrible.

X-com/UFO and Sims: Livin' Large/Livin' it up springs immidiately to mind.

Fine. Give up and try to blame your failure on me.

How on earth could I ever be in the position of failure when it is my opinion that these games are absolutely terrible, when they are?

I understand English is your second language but get a ****ing clue.

Carnival Funfair Games: Can't find any record of this game being reviewed by anyone.

Notice that I didn't say they didn't exist, I said I couldn't find any reviews. There is a massive difference in these statements.

I've no idea why you are obsessing over this point when the obvious meaning and point of the post is undeniably true. You seem to have some kind of perverted pride in that you wasted time googling a terrible game to find reviews by some no-name site no one cares about.

This is precisely why I don't like you. You're EXACTLY like Ben Kenobi in that you're completely naive and totally clueless, you never argue with the MEAT of an argument and instead you focus on the trivial aspects no one BUT YOU cares about and fixates on it until everyone you're arguing with has poked their eyes out with salty spoons rather than carrying on a discussion with you.

You should look up the word "niche", because you clearly don't know what it means. Look at the a list of best selling games and tell me that FPS and RPG games are a "niche". I'm particularly interested in how you will explain how Halo 3 is a niche game when it's sold more copies than any single Nintendo game on the Wii.

Architecturally or biologically? If it's the first, you're right. The second, then he's right.

As far as craptastic games go, I don't see the problem. If they make money, great. If they don't, then the companies that make them will go out of business. It's not like anybody is taking anything away from you, Asher. There are plenty of fantastic games coming out.

                        • Felch, you're kidding yourself is publisher budgets aren't going to be shifting to go for the "trendy" new market.

The publishers investing in these are the same publishers investing in traditional games -- so if they go out of business, it affects "real" gamers also.

youre the one who made the comparison to Britney Spears vs "art" (I dont know if by art you mean classical music, classic rock, or just pop music that sells well but appeals to 25 yo males instead of preteen females)

So I feel no need to speculate as to what particular games you were calling 'art'.

Felch, we discussed this somewhere back around post 200 or so, and someone informed us that the supply of coders able to write a quality game is inelastic with respect to price, except he didnt use so many words. As the other economist on here, Dr Spike, chose to remain silent, and I tired of the argument, that stands as the official poly take on the matter. do with what you will.

                              • its also interesting that we get hung up here about 3 low rated casual games, when the UK chart ALSO includes Wii Fit, Mario Kart Guitar Hero: On Tour and Super Smash Bros. Brawl
