I grew up with consoles, not as much as AVGN, but not far off either. I'm much happier with a PC. I like having control and choice.

Keep telling yourself that.
I like having all of them. It gives me choice...for real.

They already did it for the ps3, how hard could it be to do it for the 360.Originally posted by Asher
Why do you assume MS won't allow it vs Rockstar not bother implementing it?Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try. -Homer

It does use the HDD on the 360, it just doesn't pre-load it.
The reason they did it on the PS3 was it was the only way to stream the data. Bluray is too slow otherwise. They didn't "need" to do it on the 360, so they didn't -- they went halfway and use the HDD in realtime only, no preinstall."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Don't just think for yourself, consoles are expensive. Sure, the console itself is a little cheap compared to a new PC, but the usability and games cost a bomb, not everyone has a high paying job, and not everyone knows how to demo a game before buying it. Mothers all over America are being whinged to by their little kids for a game they can't judge whether it will be good or not.Originally posted by Asher

At least on a PC, I can stay well connected to reviews, boards, demos, etc.
On a console, you're only connected to a small portion of the gaming community, and even that is severly limited. At least on the PC, you are constantly connected to a wealth of knowledge. Let's not look at this from your perspective or my perspective, lets look at this from the perspective of all children out there now, playing games, who will one day set the path for future gaming. To be honest, I am a little

There's a lot more pop-in without it.Originally posted by Wiglaf
Does it require HDD if not what happens without it no one seems to know.
Folks at B3D confirmed you can play GTA without the HDD on the 360. It just has REALLY bad texture pop-in.According to the review you quoted, it doesn't help with texture loading."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I guarantee you 100% of all console players have access to a PC to have the same "access" to knowledge...
Hell, most consoles these days even come with a browser as well.
Finding demos, patches, and information about games on the PC is actually much harder than on consoles where it's all right there..."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

You're the one with the 5 year old avatar, 5 year old name, and 5 year old attitude.

You'd have to be a Kiwi to know what my avatar is. Your perception of a 5 year old's attitude is way too high Asher.
Round in circles we go..
Long ago I had come to accept the fact that you actually believe you are always right. Like Steve Jobs, like George Bush, like Hitler.
What a horror it would be if you were actually wrong once.
Could you dig up a thread where you admit you are wrong? Do it for me

He has when proved factually wrong - though he shies away from using the word 'wrong'. A recent example was around the release date of GT5 Prologue.
But I think that detracts from the more important point that a lot of what you have posted Snoopy is bat**** nuts. I, like others here, have both a PC and a console and find that it (drum roll......) increases choice. Lots of games work as well or better on a console - sports titles, fighting games & driving games for instance.
RPGs in contrast, will always be better on the PC, for many reasons (though not many games proving that over the last couple of years I'd note, with some good console exclusives out there). Also, RTS and TBS games work better on the PC. This is what having choice gives you.
And as an FPS purist I too prefer the PC for competitive games. But actually the console FPS has evolved to a distinct and quite advanced genre, and I like it, at least as an alternative. And in my experience there are far less cheaters on console FPS games. The two FPS games I've enjoyed most over the last year are Gears of War and Call of Duty 4, both on the 360.
And a point that got lost in the heated exchange, a PC that will run CoD4 or Gears as well as the 360 is pretty pricey, which can't be discounted for people on a limited budget.
So in short, you've forced me to agree with Asher.

If Christian leaders built gaming machines, they would release a console like PS3 or Xbox where they control you. If Evolutionists built gaming machines, they would build a PC, allowing you to do what you want, find your own way, do it yourself, make it the best you can, play your own way, the best you can. That is called Freedom in a box.
WTF?!! This has to be the worst analogy in the history of Poly, and that's saying something.
As pointed out, PCs and Consoles both have their functions. Sometimes its fun to sit on the couch and play with a gamepad. Some genres are FAR better with a gamepad and large TVs (sports).“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
