IIRC, you can download patches and DLC to memory cards. But GTA 4 DLC is suppose to be large, so I don't know if it will fit on a 256 memory card.

The Xbox 360 version is a lock to be the technically best version. The whole reason the game was delayed was to try to get the PS3 version closer to the 360 in performance/visuals.

For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud.

Rockstar themselves blamed the PS3 for the delay

Rockstar product development VP Jeronimo Barerra has revealed that technical issues with the PS3 were partly to blame for last fall's delay of Rockstar North's Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3, X360).

"It's really no surprise to anybody that the PS3 was definitely a contributing factor to that," Barerra told MTV. "Now, we're neck and neck. That's not an issue anymore. But back then that was something we were taking into account."

Other comments thus far indicate more pop-in on the PS3 version and identical framerates. Wait for more reviews, particularly for more reviews written by people other than men named "Hillary" who've ranted about how much the 360 sucks on his podcasts for a while.

PS3 version will also lack the downloadable content and Xbox Live...

And there's at least one factual error in IGN's review -- both consoles utilize the harddrive for caching.

The 360 uses it automatically when it is connected, the PS3 needs to pre-load since the Bluray transfer speed is slower.
