I would agree, it IS noise. You seem to forget it was YOUR contention, not mine.

You repeated that question 3 times. It spawn from a similarly stupid comment you made.

Yes, it's noise, but it's your noise, LOTM.

If you ignore the dimension of time. More is being supplied in late Nov through the holidays, and less in Sept-mid November. The former will (Im suggesting, and have yet to see anyone deny it) will have a higher proportion of purchasers who would be willing to defer a Wii purchase, while the later has a higher proportion of purchasers who will never buy a Wii if one isnt available in time to be an Xmas gift.

One more time. YOU said that where there arent multiple SKU's, there isnt market segmentation. Is THAT argument, the one YOU made, noise?

and the reason Im being persistent on this, to the point of OCD, if anyone else makes a mistake, you are quick with the insults. If YOU make a mistake, you are quick to change the subject, and to insult anyone who wont let you wriggle off. THAT kind of behavior certainly does this forum no good.

Your assumptions are ridiculous. How the hell can you make such assumptions when you don't know the market at all? This is exactly the point I'm trying to make.

No, the market isn't segmented. It's one supply of consoles for both hardcore and casual buyers. Both hardcore and casual buyers purchase during the holidays. There IS NOT a period of time when "casuals" by vs "hardcore" gamers. Such an assumption is completely ridiculous and unsupported. It also demonstrates a strong misunderstanding of the market. Which is precisely why I'm saying you're wasting everyone's time with this nonsense.

Only because the fundamental argument (market segmentation on the wii) is noise. The thing that makes it noise is the completely ridiculous idea that this is being discussed at all, which is all on you.

And now you're contributing more noise by spamming endlessly about what is or is not noise.

And you will note I never siad hardcore buyers dont buy during the holidays, but that I thought casual buyers, in particular parents buying it as a gift, are more relatively more likely to buy during the holidays.

If you have some evidence that this is mistaken, Id be happy to agree that my theory doesnt hold. You COULD have presented such at the beginning, instead of going on for pages of insults.

Yeah, it's not like I'm expecting 4 games as gifts either. Hardcore gamers don't get gifts for Christmas.

Another stellar assumption demonstrating solid understanding of the market.

You insult me with this nonsense. This is FAR from the first time you've posited completely stupid theories in these threads. I'm just asking you to stop. You acknowledge you don't know much about it, yet that doesn't stop you from posting about it. It's just painful.

You're responsible for what you post. I ignored your question because it is noise, but that didn't stop you from asking it over and over until it was answered. More noise.

I am responsible for what I post, and Im asking you to admit your mistake. Period. I admit my mistakes when I post them, as do most folks around here.

                        • It is not a mistake to call you on BS when you say the Wii is a segmented market.

It is not a mistake to point out that the 360 actually does have a partially segmented market.

It is a mistake to assume that because I pointed you to an example of a segmented market, I said the only possible way for a market to be segmented is multiple SKUs.

"Seriously? You think this is a "market segmentation" strategy? I'm sure you're familiar how market segmentation works. Having 1 SKU with 1 price with 1 pool of games is not a segmented market. "

Brush up on your logic skills if you thinks that equates to saying "You can't have a segmented market with 1 SKU".

There's actually 3 conditionals there, in a junction. Can you spot the other two?

Yup, and even with the other two, it doesnt match standard definitions of market segmentation.
