  • I rarely play my Paladin anymore. Hit 70, got the flying mount and since I don't raid, the only thing really left that I want is to craft the epic blacksmith only mace. But even that is "eh".

I would have quit if it weren't for the fact that I wanted to try the other classes. I didn't think trying the other classes would keep me playing, but it has. I'm having the most fun with my mage at the moment. I wanted to see what it was like to do more damage for a change. I'm enjoying it.

I know wow pvp isn't the pinnacle of the genre, but until running around flinging fireballs at people becomes boring, i'll still be doing it.
While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

Wow, that's as much fun as watching snow melt. Oh well, whatever rocks your world... of Warcraft

      • at least I had fun at the game. I wouldn't have played the game if I thought it was boring. Sure it was work at times, but fun work.

          And quit.

Just like that, it was liberating, no desire to play WoW at all. I mean I sold my account and all just to burn the bridges, but then an on-line friend offered to let me play on his account whenever I wanted, I actually did once and just couldn't stand it. Urgggh.

WoW isn't bad initially, but make sure to quit when it becomes bad.

Technically it's more habit forming than addictive.
Blake is telling it like it is. I had exactly the same experience. Once the scales fell from my eyes, I couldn't stand the game anymore. I'm proud to say that I helped a friend of mine kick the habit.

          • You were probably just as addicted as everyone else was (or in some cases are).

              • I found a 10-days-free version of BC in my mailbox yesterday. With you all dropping the game, is Blizzard already so desparate for customers, that they try to reactivate people who played WoW 2 years ago for mere 2 weeks?

                • yeah...

but I am playing WoW again because of it

                  • At this stage it's a pretty common tactic. You can get a decent payoff no matter how big an active playerbase you already have.

I'd do exactly the same if I were Blizzard.

                    • I don't plan on resubscribing when it runs out though. I just have not been able to properly fill my time since I quit MMOs (EVE and LOTRO) and so want to take a small break from trying to do other things, before I try to do other things again.

If I had more freinds here in VA, or had a GF, finding non-MMO, non-Videogame, non-Reading, non-TV watching things to do would be easier. (not that those things are all bad.. but when you just do them, you are a narrow person)

Perhaps I should try out the BC content with my mighty level 17-ish orc shaman?!

                        • I can see what you are trying to imply but the content is pretty much irrelevant here - it's about drawing old players in for another go, and regardless of the fact that most players that quit early wont benefit much from the BC content it's still the tastiest biscuit to dangle in front of the dog.

You are the dog. BC is the biscuit. See? Good boy.

                          • there are always the newbie areas. and yes, I have done both of them. the blood elf areas are nice.

as for 60+ areas, I have done helffire peninsula, marshlands, nagrand, and terrokar forest. haven't done the mountains, the area in the southeast (forget name) and that island looking thing in the northeast. and of course lots of instance/dungeon material I have yet to see. and most likely never will.

Nah, I won't start MMORPGing anytime soon, with BtS coming out and myself being happy to have some time at my hand without the venom of addiction in my veins. I'm coding a bit, playing HoI2 and am going with a new character through

                              - Shadows of Undrentide
                              - The Nether Scrolls
                              - Hordes of the Underdark
                              - Shadows of Heliopolis (that's where I'm now)
                              - Gem Tower
                              - Pyramid of the Ancients

in that order, hoping to get to level 40.

                              • Cool. I'll also be playing BtS, but have probably given up NWN for good. Still need to get around to the sequel though.
