  • You can nearly always continue playing your trial character when you subscribe properly for MMOs - it would be crazy not to allow people to do this.

While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

Starting to think about next week now, I have been playing for a week and a half, quite a bit so far (too much my girlfriend would say) and my 2 week trial is about to expire......on tuesday? Question now is whether or not to pay to renew. And if I do decide to pay to keep it, how to go about doing so. (I don't use paypal or any similar service, and hate the concept of using my credit card for an online purchase). Either way, will my account remain even if I let it expire on Tuesday? (if say I decided in a month to start paying for it?)

But now back to the game...........before leaving Tessidril I decided to finish the last two (three?) quests I had left undone. When I went back to do one of them, which was an "elite" quest with a level 9 Mob, I finished it easily, whereas I had assumed as an elite quest I would be unable to complete it regardless of my level. Is there a safe amount to attempt "elite" quests solo? Say 3 levels above the mobs, or 5 levels, or.....?

Also, while I was there I saw a level 8 player approach by themself, so I watched them enter combat and assisted them to defeat the mob. They didn't ask for my help so was I violating some ingame etiquette or is it usually accepted if you help out others? I have had others help me a couple times before, and I have assisted others before, in this case I particularly assisted as I think he would have died without me (he was going hand to hand and took a lot of damage even with my help from a distance).

A lot of times I'll check the health of the enemy and the attacker, if it's going bad and they are horde, i will always help out. I often help out anyways, even if it means just sending my pet in (which is real easy- ctrl-1). I just noticed recently that my hunter's pet has a higher dps than I do. . I am a beastmaster hunter. for my warlock I may lay a dps like curse of agony as I'm passing by. or send my demon pet.

Alliance I usually don't help. There have beent time they have helped me, so I feel inclined to help them. Even though if they had their pvp on, I'd lay the smack down on them. . Sometimes I treat them nicely, sometimes I gank them. Such is life.

As for elite quests, you can generally do them if you are 3 or 4 levels higher if it's just a single elite. Dungeons you generally can't solo (and expect to get decent xp for the quest- it will go gray by the time you can solo a dungeon). If it says dungeon, you will need help. Generally 5 people.

My hunter could usually take elites the same level as him. I once took out an elite 2 levels higher than me (elite panther for panthery mastery quest in stranglethorn vale). but usually 2 levels is too tough. And sometimes even when I was 4 levels higher, I still couldn't do it. Like the giant in stranglethorn vale (for the captain's chest quest). Though I could do it if I kited, I generally don't like to kite. But I have recently learned how to do it decently.

But my other characters I have not been able to take out elites the same level. Even my warlock with blue man as his pet. He's pretty tough, just not as tough as my hunter.

        • you are suppose to kite with your warlock also

I think for stand up and take it while fighting you go wit hDruid or Paladin to defeat much tougher enemies

my paladin once defeateed an enemy 8 levels higher than him

          • I still can't see how you can kite with a warlock. Yeah I've done some minor kiting. But the fact is, monsters chase speed is higher than the warlocks run speed right? They don't have aspect of the cheetah.

                Fear kite.

Keep dots ticking on the mob and fear it again every time fear breaks. You can use this tactic to solo multiple equal level elites at a single time, keep them all bouncing back and forth. It's a really fun way to grind normal mobs, keep fearing them away and they bring back adds, dot and fear the adds and they bring back more adds, with my warlock I'd often have like 4 mobs running around on fire.
I even killed true elites 3 levels higher with my Warlock, granted that is kinda hit and miss, but the Warlock can do it and I don't think any other class can (there are wussy elites which are not really any stronger than normal mobs, but they don't count).

The Druid can take on up to +2 Elites with root or hibernate tactics, but it's very slow. The Druid can beat equal level elites with bear form and can beat much higher level normals with bear form. Paladin is much the same.

Rogues can beat equal level elites, higher level stunnable elites (using every trick in the book) and much higher level normals. Not only that, the Rogue can often take encounters like 1 elite and 2 normal mobs, by sapping the elite then killing the normals, vanishing, and finishing off the elite. Rogues are simply sick for things like that.

I heard on the new patch that damage breaks fear. I haen't tried that out yet though.

                        • okay I just read that you can't use flying mounts in the old world. . I wanted to explore around. And for some reason I was thinking you could get a normal flying mount at 60, and epic at 70. It seems both are at 70. which is good because I can't afford either.

I can't even afford the epic ground mount. I was thinking it was 450 gold. It appears to be 630 gold. . I need almost 200 more gold. I'm up to level 59 now, and I'm in the outlands. The guy in my guild said once you go there, you really have no reason to go back. I'll probably abandon all my other quests. The quests rewards in the outlands are just too good. I already got a cool helmet, and crossbow (I have to go back to the old world so I can train in crossbows though).

from what I hear, no one really goes back to the old. Yet I see a lot of 70's hang around Ogrimar all day doing nothing. Or they are raiding towns. I don't know why they mess around with the old world.

So I need a good way to make fast gold.
