It should be virtually free on Radeon X1000-series cards and GF 7/8 series.

The landscape model is really well done. I love the little level 1 critters running about everywhere, they aren't useful at all but add to the living look, as much as the flocks of birds flying away when you approach some trees.
And the water looks gorgeous. Pity you can't dive in this game and there's no drift in flowing water (VG has it). And there are no mobs in the water either, at least not that I know of yet.
Drift floating in water is actually very expensive to do, if you do it right. There's a lot of physics and clipping calculations involved. I think that's one of the problems in VG, they don't have reasonable expectations for hardware.

Perhaps I didn't write it right, but why is it hard to drag a swimming or diving character in the direction of the river flow? It's just adding one vector to his own direction/speed vector and letting him move in the direction of the resulting vector. That can't be expensive.
For LotRO I just mean, that they put much love in doing the environment right and authentic (like the mentioned flocks of birds and many other details), but you can swim across a river 1 meter from a waterfall and don't have fear to be dragged down.

Oh, current -- I thought you meant driftwood, etc.
