works alright, still has some kinks to work out.
OF course, Microsoft had webtv 10 years ago, right Asher?
Yeah, and it was a failure then as well.
By "Some kinks" I presume you're referring to the blurry text and awful interface.

I'm starting to think that the reason Asher loves the Xbox Live is because he can't find any friends willing to play with him, so he has to go and play a game against people online...whereas those of us with friends have no need for t'internet for gaming
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.
Yeah, I regularly play 32 player splitscreen on my Xbox as well.

Can someone explain to me why the PS3 is so dead?
It is having a bad launch, but so did the Xbox360. It seems that in 1-2 years things may stabilize?
I think in part its founded in the long time USA vs Japan war over home entertainment dominance. As an english speaker myself i tend to notice more the anti japanese bias coming from america, but if i could understand japanese, i'm sure they are just as bad.
The main thing has to be the price in my opinion. I'm not a next-gen fanboy at all, but if forced to get a next-gen console the PS3 just prices itself out of my interest zone.
These are JUST game consoles - all you can do is play games that other people have made. For the money i'd rather get a medium range budget PC - or put the money towards a decent PC.
So i think the asking price plus the bad press is definately taking its toll on the PS3.
Nintendo i think have been much more clever than people think. They've aimed squarely at the 'family' market(where most of the console buying of parents for little johny takes place) with the Wii. Also i'm sure time will show that dev costs for Wii is going to be the cheapest of all the next-gen platforms. So good for customers, good for devs. Also its trying to do something different, and for people like myself growing bored with 'all gloss no content' gaming, that has its own draw.
In the new release, "Leisure Suit Larry: Upstanding Citizen," the Wiimote will be placed into a strap-on harness for a whole new angle on the game. Now you won't only have to get the women to agree to a little bump-and-tickle, you will also have to please them enough that they don't lose interest.
With the Wiimote strapped firmly on your hips, you must thrust and gyrate in a "pleasing" manner. For the sexually inept, your conquest just may fail and she will fall asleep, turn the TV on or just get up and leave. Those that you satisfy will earn you libido points and help you as you go along. But enough bad reviews and the girls will be laughing and pointing at you as you walk by.
Larry has fallen a long way since his glory days...

No way could i see such a use for the wiimote getting through nintendo's approval checking, at least that is one area where consoles have an extra layer of quality control.
If it is real i doubt we will see it released. Still maybe it could launch a whole porn movie underground movement - non nintendo endorsed products sold under the counter in brown paper bags! chuckle
My nephew got a Wii for Christmas. Did you know that they sold the Wiimote and the nunchuck separately? So if you want an extra controller you have to pay 70$ cdn. That and the fact that the Wii is way too expensive. Nintendo are a bunch of golddiggers Fortunately, I told my nephew not to buy Red Steel. I told him its a POS game. I told him to get Zelda instead.
