    Excellent mod here guys: http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=2009

It makes the underwater fog less "murky". It's still murky but you can at least see for a few yards in front of you. Best one I've seen so far.

Well, after getting a certain item from one of the Daedric Shrines, lockpicking has not been a problem. And when your skill gets above 75, it seems almost impossible to fail to lock a tumbler.

I have to use auto lockpick. For some reason I can't figure out what to do, or I'm simply very clumsy, as the lockpick keeps shifting left to right

What kind of mouse are you using? A super sensitive optical mouse (like my G5 running at 1400 DPI) tends to do that. If yours is adjustable, you might lower the sensitivity and see if that helps.

Even better, the unlock spells are nice.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

I haven't tried that yet; high sensitivity might possibly cause it yeah.

well i only ever use Auto lockpick as i cant be bothered playing with the Lcoks.

Just managed to level up to 12.

wondering though., what level do most play this game at, i am using xbox360 version and i play on normal which is halfway along the slider.

closed 6 oblivion gates , probably only needed to do one so far.

ok i see people do post info on the mods they are running. It can be a nightmare trying to find the right mods so any advice or suggestions are always helpfull. The Mods i've been using are:

Landscape LOD texture replacement: It massively improves the look of the outdoor mountain ranges, quite a big nasty download to get though! i had to try a few times.

*NO* persistant enchantment glow fix: I never liked all the 'cartoon' enchant effects in Morrowind either - all a bit too DnD for my tastes.

No more annoying messages: Has made a huge difference to my immersion in the game world, i went with just the 'lite' version that got rid of the 'Loading data' text only.

Deadlier sneaking: my char is a ranger type, light armour, marksman etc - and this game does hit you hard if your not a plate wearing death machine, so this seems an ok mod - maybe a little powerfull? I'll turn it off if that impression continues or grows.

CallSteed 3.0: Want to bring your horse into town, or maybe you've just lost it somewhere? This is a great mod that you'll use without thinking about.

MD_Saddle_Bags_V20: Store stuff on your horse - it seems like you can store quite a bit, but when you get to over half your mounts encumberance, the horses speed will start to fall - so its quite well balanced imo.

Im looking at trying a leveling slow down mod, probably going to go with this one, Level Rates Modified:

All the others above apart from the last one, i have been playing with for a week or so and havent caused any problems at all.
What i'm trying to get out of the game is something good for a stealthy character, but not way too powerfull, and something that will slow progression down so i can get to explore as much as possible in my own time. And being able to use your horse as you would do in RL seems a good idea

Despite my initial sceptism about this game, and with the help of these Mods, i'm starting to really love Oblivion - even Daggerfall has not been getting a play since i started, which is a pretty good sign for me!

                        Not with user mods yet.

I got it, but wasn't terribly impressed. The interior of the Orrerry itself is something, but the "quest" was underwhelming, to say the least.

I've heard the same thing from the official forums... so I'm passing on it for now.

Well, I've hit the point in the game where I've got more money then Talos. I actually bought the house in Choral (pretty cool actually). Now I got to adventure to pay to furnish it! Perhaps I'll work on buying a "winter" home in Anvil.

But there is a point in every single RPG where money just is no problem. When bandits and goblins carry Dwarven armor and glass weapons it's not hard to get lots of septums! I remember the same thing in Morrowind as well as Dungeon Siege, Baulders Gate and so forth.

But.....unlike in many other games you can actually do something with your money (like buy houses) so that's good.
