Now we descend into Oblivion ... (pt 3)

Having a great time playing again. Totally new character using the Mystic Elf from Ren's Hair pack (which includes the new Mystic Elf race).

Anyway, taking a totally different path this time. Using more magic and stealth and specializing in Marksman. Man it totally rocks to just knock most baddies off before they even know you're there. Fun stuff. If they don't die then lob a couple fireballs their way as they charge in and most (so far) drop before I need to even draw my sword.

Anyway, planned to to Kvatch much earlier by level 4 this time. I accedently stole something one day and got invited to the theives guild. I then got dark thoughts and decided to kill someone and chose some dude travelling between towns. Got invited to the Dark Brotherhood and joined up. Also doing some Arena matches for the first time. Man, talk about a whole different perspective on the game. Having a blast, almost like a new game to me.

And the Dark Brotherhood armor totally rocks at level 3.

Finally completed the main tasks and most of the others, the only ones i havent compelted now are the Final Fighters guild ones, but i do have a lot of mages guild ones to compelte, unfortunatly i got kicked out of both guilds for murder along the way and now have t ogo complete some mundane tasks to get back in...

love the armour you get at the end of main quest , very cute..

Just got it a few days ago. I took too much advice on the point of "slow your levelling by picking useless skills as your main ones" and ended up with a character I found completely meh, so I quit doing side quests and just finished the main quest quickly. Started over as a stabby Nord today, so I'll see how that turns out. It was also making my laptop crash from overheating (actually, it made the laptop shut itself off), so I got one of those laptop coolers that's just a pad with a fan in it underneath the laptop and it works fine now.

Just a quick heads-up to let people know that a virus attack happend yesterday on the elderscrolls forum. Sometime around 3-4pm onwards GMT(uk time). Many people got infected and if you were unfortunate enough to visit around that time a good virus scan might be in order.

Its difficult to find good info on what happend but this seems to be the most comprehensive thread i could find:

Note the forum is now blue - it only infected the standard tan colour scheme for some reason? And it seems safe to view the forums now.

Luckily i dont go there often and missed the main event, but i've scanned everything just to be sure.

I thought this might be useful info for some people.

Edit: Ok it seems the people who run the forums at elderscrolls have decided it didnt happen. All usefull info that had been sticked by the mods present at the time has been removed. That thread i linked to is the only place to get info on the event.

I'm pretty disgusted by Bethesda's actions over this. I was lucky and didnt visit the site at the time you could have got infected by the trojan( i was about 30mins too early on the day).
Some of the usefull info that a poster put up on what to do to remove the virus has been deleted for some reason?

But it turns out that it could effect any user who visited on any browser and used the default tan colour scheme for viewing the forums. Some peoples AV caught it, and some didnt. Even if your virus scanner warned you some people have reported that by the time they disallowed the pop-up, it had downloaded some infected files onto thier machines. These files collect amongst other things, bank account details and send that info to other computers when you use the internet.

This was the trojan responsible apparently. I hope people here got lucky like i did and missed it.

I've only just started playing. Since people automatically know when I have stolen from them despite being at the other end of the house from me, I have decided to vent my antisocial nature by jumping on any tables and benches in stores. And knocking all their wares off the table.

i've played over 500 hours. finished the main quest, finished arena, didnt finish fighters/mage guilds or dk br.. but i am completely burnt. i'm done with it. ready to sell my 360 and the game..


i think the ability to play god by having 100% chameleon ruined the game for me.. huge oversight by designers.. chameleon should be 75% max for everyone.... chameleon is broken anyway - unless you are 100% , you can be seen all the time.. If you are 75% that should mean you are invisible 3 out of every 4 seconds..

Finally bought the parts for a new computer (a massive upgrade of my current one, actually), putting it together tomorrow. Oblivion capable, too .
