In this case it would be a concession, not a punishment. We're allowed to stay in the other games forum, but we don't get the post count increases that some people might be playing the game for. To me, this seems ideal, although it also seems like a lot of work for rah, which may mean that it's far from ideal

I guess the easiest thing to do is just to start the next thread in OT, and since that's the easiest, that's probably what we'll do. Having said that, random clicking took me to other games, but forum games kept me here. Random clicking has taken me to OT, but nothing can keep me there for much longer than a minute before leaving.

I like this game, it's a great battle of wits against the word setter, or against the plebian masses if you're setting the word. Trying to find the most esoteric word you can, so that people only get the singular vowel on the fifth attempt (). It's fun, it's a challenge, it's a good game. Surely it should be with the other other games in this forum, and not in the off topic forum, next to pie discussions?

On top of the arguments already made I'd add that pcr'ing people seems even more inelegant than deleting the threads, and that's saying something. We get through 3 threads every 2 months, with lots of participants. Manually pcr'ing people seems a very inefficient use of mod's time.

Doing 100 for the top 5 posters or whatever is faster, at the expense of being far more inequitable, and raising other issues. Some will essentially get punished for playing a game deemed legal, and people on the margin have incentives to behave irregularly.

It just doesn't seem at all well thought through at all to me.

Having read all the comments and lacking a true concensus from the players, I have decided to allow it to continue here. I will delete threads as they are finished but allow time for anyone to personally archive them. I will NOT delete all the old threads. I reserve the right to change my mind based on how the players conduct themselves in future games.

I hope this is consistent with a majority of the major players. If I have misread the situation, please feel free to voice your opinion.

May as well use this thread to vote on the posting of zips. Many have expressed opinions, but since these are quite divided a formal vote here looks best.

Please choose:

1) Zips are good and ensure everything is above board, and the posting of zips containing your word when you are the word setter should be compulsory.
