Are players with less then 5k not attackable or something?

Players with less than 5k have "noob protection." This means that they cannot attack or be attacked by anybody with more than a 20% difference in score (I think it's 20). Thus, once you are past 5k, even the number 1 player with 5 gazillion points can attack you. Players often look at the rankings to see who has just broken 5k, as they are often good targets.

Just looking around. Find a greenie, and then search for the player name - this will show their overall score.
I'm leaving my planets on vacation for tonight because I left my job today, and have to go to my leaving do this evening. I don't want to plan a fleetsave when I'm not sure when I'll get up.

I've gone on vacation mode on account of the end-of-the-year schoolwork crunch. It's pretty opportune, too, as all the a$$holes were starting to probe me after I crossed 5k.

Headsup- I just headed into vacation mode upon hitting 5000 points and getting scanned about 4-5x within hours of doing so- and realizing that I didn't get to a computer at all in almost the past 36 hours and will be unlikely to get to any in the next week. I might be back from tuesday through Thursday, but then I'm travelling again and will probably be out until the 20th at the earliest.

Out of curiosity- how long does vacation mode work for a maximum?

Note: Still don't even have a battleship and only have 5 cruisers- yet somehow I have 5K points?

I have nearly zero warship (and only enough shipping to manage my empire), and yet I have 14000 points, with me being among the best 1500 players now.
