    • the increase between level9 and 10 is roughly 150ish and between level10 and 11 200ish(very roughly)

seeing as how costs are 3200\1600 that would be a while to get back, whereas my transport has already paid for itself when it gets back. intiul i have time to kill, there isnt much sense in building more mines

edit;with all the activity,im surprised someone hasnt talked markg into starting a forum(private even?would be handy)

Everybody leaves. (well, exept for some probes and some light fighters I keep to thwart enemy probes). Make sure there is no significant fleet to crash: the debris field created could be worth while the effort to send in a kill.

          • I want to do a test on fighters + battleships vs battleships only. I read somewhere that a combined forces fleet will defeat a homogenous fleet due to the fact that battleships can only hit one target at a time, so with a majority of your fleet being fighters they will hit fighters rather than battleships the majority of the time. So the theory goes, anyway.

Also, I'm considering giving Dark Cloud admin access too so he can update the colonys list as he originally asked. Assuming there are no objections, I'll make that change within 24 hours.

            • Does anyone know if two jumpgates owned by seperate alliance members work as if they were both owned by the same player?

              Edit:
What my thinking here is this: We have (well, you official members have ) the means to both calculate what's needed to create moons and how to coordinate efforts to do that in strategic locations in alliance territories. If alliance jumpgates work as if they're owned by a single player, then this would be a major boon for the alliance. Obviously, such a project would incur risks of other players trying to get resources but I would imagine the benefits of instant travel between alliance worlds for commerce and military manuevers would outweigh any risks.

                • Well, that blows. Do you know if fleets can anchor on alliance worlds or do they get blasted to smithereens?

                  • DRoseDARS, sounds like you are doing well in Universe 9, have you thought about signing up for Universe 8 and joining the Poly alliance? You would make a welcome addition

(Though other players have expressed difficulty in playing two worlds so it would be understandable if you weren't interested).

btw, I know nothing of jump gates and am unable to answer your questions

                    • Jump gates cost 2mil metal, 4mil crystal and 2mil deuterium. This does not include costs for making the moon in the first place or building a lunar base to put the gate on. Finall, with robot factory level 2 it will still take me over 33 days to build one. Yes, days.

                      • Crap, you can't send resources throught he jumpgate. You can't send ships loaded with resources through the jumpgate. :/

At least you can send attack fleets instantaneously, but still...

precision crash, the number one player of our universe used 666 BB and 10k light fighters in his last attack.
I think he has some hard foundation on this force composition..
Also consider that light fighters are far lesser to heavy if the force meets a cruiser + BB fleet or somesuch as cruisers can decimate Light Fighters at triple the rate..

                          • I ran a few speedsim sims, if all else is equal the same metal cost in fodder beats battleships always, and at a cheaper price in crystal.

                                Re:Me being successful
You give me too much credit. I'm just slowly going about my business in Uni9. I've got just the one decent homeworld plus three colonies who's production I rev up whenever I happen to be online and rev down when I'm not. My third colony is actually in the same system as my homeworld. Some long-inactives had finally passed away and opened up the 4th, 5th, and 6th planet spots. Someone took #5, I settled 4, and I'm building the colonyship for 6 right now if I time this right. Yes yes, having multiple colonies in a system is bad or whatever, I'm just getting the resources from them for my homeworld right now. Colonies 1 and 2 are ~10 systems away in opposite directions. I really don't like that it takes just over an hour for a ship to travel in-system and just under 2 hours to go to far-flung systems (the ratio is what I'm gripping about, not the speed).

                                Re:Me joining Uni8
I'll think about it. I may just abandon Uni9 altogether instead of trying to juggle two of them.
