I've had a lot of free time a few weeks ago.

That said: finding a couple of good targets helps, and then keep hitting them. I love the three-wave, and try to hit as close by as possible, and then repeat.

And offcourse rapid colonization helps a lot. The first thing I did was to make sure I got 8 colonies.


edit: And I should not forget save-raiding: meaning I do a fleetsave by attacking a wealthy inactive: I still get some stuff, while I send my ships to safety. (These are only my fleets I save, one or two fleets with most of my goods go to a colony overnight (or day as well))

I'll be back around 10 or 11 tomorrow morning. If a Droth bash is considered this weekend, I hope there will be some news on that by then. My fleetsave take 16 hours this weekend, so I'll need to do some planning ahead if I am to participate

A few minutes a couple times a day could be all that it takes to keep you moving forward (or even once a day if necessary) if you can't be on that often you are likely to get raided though.

Good to have you on board, you did join Universe 8 and request to join the alliance right ?

Edit: And once you do, let us know your location, someone nearby could probably send you some resources to get you started, the early game can be kinda boring otherwise

This safe noob period is very useful to learn how things operate.

Just don't think you are safe from everyone, just those that a much more powerful then you. Anyone else that is noob-ish can attack you so you should try to use up what he sent you as quickly as you can (without wasting it on anything of course). Basically you can't go wrong building your mines and solar plants early.

No probs Herc. Use them to get your own domestic production up and you shouldn't have many problems.

A useless observation: While we haven't yet made the top 100 in points, we're in the top 50 in total research, and ranked #89 in fleet numbers.

I've been pounding away on research - I'm at level 6 or higher for pretty much everything except the hyperspace techs, and my fleet is only 3 cruisers
