Not so much, it's that 1) inferring that someone's wife is inferior to him (and he knows his failings) is a good way to get punched in the nose, and 2) it's a good way to NOT have sex with any female in hearing distance. Plus if he agrees with you no sex for him either. Easier to punch you inna nose.

Chapter 5 – Home alone


Once again Smurfs gathered in the main square to choose the guilty one and to elect the next Papa Smurf. Poet Smurf accused Dreamy Smurf that he was behind the whole thing. The majority of Smurfs thought likewise and Dreamy Smurf was voted out.
There was a slight problem though. No more poison.

“What are we going to do”, Brainy Smurf asked. “If only Papa Smurf were here. He would have known what to do.”
“I can always smurf him with my smurfy hammer”, Handy said.

Then Grandpa Smurf interjected.
“I have some knowledge of poisons and can mix something”, Grandpa said. “After all, I was Papa Smurf once”, he added.

The other Smurfs encouraged him to use Papa Smurf’s laboratory to mix a poison and that he did. He came back with a large vial of poison. He poured some in a small vial and gave it to Dreamy, who drank the poison and died instantly.

Grandpa Smurf then said: “I’ll put this vial in Papa Smurf’s lad on a desk. It will be there in case we need more poison.”

Elections were held for new Papa Smurf and Brainy won the elections by a small margin.

“Meow”, Azrael meowed in despair.

His desperate meowing was overheard by Nosey Smurf. He alerted Handy Smurf about it. The two came to Azrael’s aid.

“What is wrong with you”, Nosey Smurf asked. “Are you ill?”
“Meowww”, Azrael replied.
“He must be ill”, Handy concluded. “Or under some kind of spell.”
“Yes, he must be under a spell. It is surely Gargamel’s fault”, Nosey said.

Azrael nodded. He then showed them piece of paper Gargamel gave him earlier.
The two Smurfs examined the paper curiously.

“This must be some kind of recipe. For a remedy for your situation, no doubt”, Nosey speculated.
“Meowwww”, Azrael replied and nodded again.
“We must take this to Brainy, sorry Papa Smurf and Grandpa Smurf. They will know what to smurf with it”, Handy suggested.

They did just that. Grandpa and Brainy examined the piece of paper.

“I have no idea what this could be”, Brainy said.
“It’s a recipe of some kind. It seems that this Smurf knows for sure that this recipe is a cure for his condition”, Grandpa said.

Azrael nodded. The group made their way to Papa Smurf’s lab. They found all ingredients save one – Belladonna berries. They went to ask Smurfette if she had Belladonna in her garden.

“Ah Belladonna. Such a smurfy plant. Beautiful purplish red flowers”, Smurfette said.
“So, do you have it in your garden”, Brainy asked.
“I’m afraid not. Belladonna is poisonous. By the way, it has some use in female cosmetics, but I don’t need it as it is used to increase paleness. And who would like a pale Smurf”, Smurfette replied.
“Indeed, who”, Nosey said.
“Pale Smurf! Yuck!” Handy was disgusted.
“Indeed Smurfette, but can you help us search the forest for it. It appears you know what it looks like”, Grandpa asked.
“You know what it looks like too. And I can’t go now, I have to take feed Baby Smurf”, Smurfette replied.
“I can’t go to the forest Smurfette”, Grandpa said. “My back isn’t what it used to be. Can you not find someone else who could feed Baby Smurf and look after him?”
“OK. I’ll join the search party. I’ll ask Lazy Smurf to look after Baby Smurf while I am gone.”

Brainy Smurf, Nosey Smurf, Handy Smurf, Smurfette and Azrael went to search the forest for Belladonna berries. They returned from the forest with some Belladonna berries, but when they came back they learned that someone had poisoned Baby Smurf. Farmer Smurf discovered it when he came with a can of fresh milk for the baby and found Lazy sleeping on the floor and Baby Smurf dead.
