        • First story:

cutting a bolt of his fine satin. According to standard procedures, despite Garak's numerous covert activities, Dr. Bashir conducted the autopsy. His agenda for the day listed a raincoat, as well as the satin nightgown, both paid for in advance with strips of latinum.
This is a two part clue. First of all, the raincoat is the real clue, pointing to a ferengi. The satin nightgown is the red herring, implicating a female, (both mafia were male). When combined, it appears to also implicate Ishka, who was most definitely innocent. The key is to look at which bolt Garak was cutting when he died, why would the killer want to interrupt work on his garment? The raincoat had already been finished.

          • Story number 2, part 1:

First of all, Garak's killer could not have been any of the civilians given the security bolt on Garak's shop. The killer had to have been able to gain access through abuse of one of the codes from ops.
Red herring here. This clue threw Ljube off for the longest time.

or who have shielded their access to the computers of DS9, as befitting their dignitary status.
The Nagus would have had a secured channel on DS9, and could have acquired the ops code without alerting ops to the intrusion. This is the real clue.

I actually never listed a clue implicating Quark, as Quark never had a successful kill! All the clues implicated the Nagus, or a Ferengi in general.

            Story number 2 part 2:

Kai Winn Adami was found dead by Major Kira with a stone cold, half full cup of raktajino coffee sitting on her desk, and her staff by her bed.
Raktajino was the red herring, but the staff is like the staff of the Nagus, and the real clue.

            • Part 3:

Only one clue here, I was getting skittish after losing one mafia already and I thought the clues earlier had been more than enough.

Computer logs showed that she had been investigating the specifications of federation holographic technology, an innovation not available to Cardassians.
Holographic technology - holosuite - ferengi

              • Part 4:

While the Emissary slowly grew to accept his role, who knows how the Prophets work on those who meet them?
This clue Ljube got. The nagus became an altruist after meeting the prophets, in a episode before the date that I wrote this mafia. Remember I cannot talk about stuff that had not happened, such as Keiko's meeting, etc. I could only talk about stuff up to the fourth season. The same thing with Worf being a diplomat. At this point, Dax was still a Lieutenant!

                • Part 5:

One thing that did catch my eye, was what Jake had been writing about. He talked about the changes in his father since he had became appointed emissary. Originally, he had struggled greatly, but he had gradually grown into his role. Jake figures the wormhole aliens change people's minds to change their personality.
Ljube caught this clue, another allusion to the Nagus. All of the red herrings I have been planting in the last few updates are 'environmental' ones, suggestions that someone is the killer, just from how they write or talk. I hadn't planted a true red herring, since no one was close to guessing the killer.

                  • Part 6:

My primary suspect would have to be Brunt, given the interest of Brunt in Quark's Bar, and his original purpose to be on the station to crush the union organised by Rom.

I can't help but return to Kira's comments before I injected her. She kept babbling on about those damn wormhole aliens. 'The prophets must somehow be the key to all this.' I cannot recall who among the crew, after the death of the emissary, would have had any contact with the wormhole aliens...
Red herring in the first clue, real clue in the second. Ljube got the real clue in his post earlier.

My environmental red herrings managed to kill Dr. Bashir.

                    • Part 7:

Compassion for those who have betrayed you is an odd starfleet virtue, it puzzles me almost as much as altruism, to assist those who are your enemies rather than punishing them as they deserve.
Another allusion to the conversion of the nagus. This is another method I like to use, inserting words that stick out, and should draw people's attraction. In this one it is altruism.

The cleverness of this killer astounds me, I would almost suspect him to have the lobes for intrigue which I lack as subtlety has never been a Klingon strong point.
I made a stronger hint, and declined the red herrings, since people were so far away from the killer.

                      edit:

                      • Part 8:

While the former kills presume some technological proficiency, in disruption of the security device in the room of the Kai, such proficiency was also possessed by Nog, and available to others should the need arise.

Still I have to admire the savvy of our killer, to remain at large for so long, Such acumen would seem to indicate knowledge of people that I have seen on occasions from filthy politicians and diplomats. Bah, it would only be too fitting, that such scum would be our killer.
First clue is a red herring, but a veiled clue, since while the Nagus did not have the skills, they would have been available to him, from someone else. The second clue is the more obvious one.

An interesting touch though, is that it was prune juice he poisoned.
Red herring alert. It's at the end! It's a separate paragraph!

                        • Part 9:

I am certain that the killer is the Nagus, and as such, I hope to convince the remainder of the crew that the evidence convicts him moreso than any of the rest. A simple glance at all the previous clues makes me wonder why the search has taken so long.
                          A big fat honking clue!

the killer poisoned his cup of bloodwine, which I had given to him.
Yet another red herring targetting Worf. I've had the last couple target him.

                          • Round 10:

the poison has worked its magic touch on Brunt's gold pressed latinum goblet, which up until now, had not left his hand. I wonder if Brunt had threatened the killer to reveal his identity to the rest of us, thus ensuring his demise.

Finally, the innocence of Worf has been proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, leads me to question all of the conclusions I have drawn thus far, in attempting to apprehend the killer.
Three clues here. Latinum = Ferengi = Nagus. Secondly, the close relationship between Brunt and the Nagus, hinted in the Nagus confiding in Brunt. Third, a wakeup call to Ljube, which he managed to see.

                            • Hehe, indeed. Thanks for that last one Ben.

Excellent clues. I was so much under the impression of that security "clue" that I discarded all the rest as red herrings.
