Captain's Log:
Long have we waited for this day, the first admittance of Bajor into the Federation. Negotiations have begun, administered by Bajor's First Minister, Shakaar, who has just arrived at the station. I anticipate a satisfactory conclusion, even as I am wary there may be others opposed to such close collaboration between Bajor and the Federation.
Notwithstanding these noteworthy negotiations, there have been several additional events deserving inclusion into my captain's log.
The first is the disturbing fall of Gul Dukat; since accepting his daughter, Tora Ziyal, and bringing her back to Cardassia. As the child of both Bajoran and Cardassian parents, her heritage led to the downfall of Dukat, and his subsequent banishment. Major Kira Nerys, has reported her desire to bring Dukat's daughter to a more proper home, here on DS9.
The second concerns our most recent addition to the crew of DS9, Lieutenant Commander Worf. While he has been most harried since his sudden arrival, due to the shifting loyalties of the Klingon Empire, he has served us well. He reports that his brother, Kurn has arrived on the station, and hopefully, this will finally allow him time for himself, in a pleasant visit.
Finally, there have been numerous rumblings surrounding Quark's. The collapse of Rom has been brought to my attention by Constable Odo, who suggests that Quark's abuse of his staff will only lead to more trouble. We shall see what shall come about, will Rom finally stand up for himself against his bullying brother, or will he shrink from confrontation as he has in the past?
