    Most of them

IIRC, right click the poison flask and the option to do it will appear.

        Ok, to boost strength CHEAT

Open the console by pressing the ~ key.
Type DebugMode 1 (could be Debug Mode 1)
Open the console again and type SetSTR 18 (for example)
        L-Click on your character
Open the console again and type DebugMode 0

        Done.

Well I haven't got a flask of poison, just a poison gland. Presumably I'll need to process it in some way first. Who can I go to to get that done?

          And Jam, .

A poison gland? IIRC those are for a quest, you can´t use them.

Tsk, tsk. Btw, my wizard as a strength of 10. I guess I'll use my bag of holding for the heavy stuff, like armor. (For 3000+ gold, you have to admit that it's a rip off.) Maybe I'll get one of those magic bags, but they don't seem very useful.

The minimum modifier you need to get one extra Nth-level spell slot is +N. You get an extra spell slot at that level for every extra +4 (for example, an Int 20 character, modifier +5, gets two extra first-level spells, while an Int 19 character, modifier of +4, gets just the one.)

As for wizards being encumbered: Hire a henchman and use him as a pack mule. Or chug potions of Bull's Strength.
Ok so that's a large increase in int/charisma needed per slot. What are the advantages of high int/char (ignore skills) in terms of making your spells harder to resist?

Having a higher int or cha bonus increases the DC for saving throws against your spells. IIRC, the DC is 10+(spell level)+([int/wis/cha, as appropriate] bonus), so Wail of the Banshee (Fort save or die) cast by someone with 26 Int has a DC of 10+9+8=27. Spell Focus, etc., increases the DC, of course.

                    Outright spell resistance...

To affect a creature that has spell resistance, a spellcaster must make a caster level check (1d20 + caster level) at least equal to the creature’s spell resistance. (The defender’s spell resistance is like an Armor Class against magical attacks.) If the caster fails the check, the spell doesn’t affect the creature. The possessor does not have to do anything special to use spell resistance. The creature need not even be aware of the threat for its spell resistance to operate.
IOW, int/cha doesn't have anything to do with SR.

IIRC, you can buy different types of venom from some merchants, like maybe the tarot reading gypsy/halfling (I'm not sure--one or some merchants have it). Right click and point at weapon in inventory. Weapon should be poisoned.

                              Isn't poisoning a skill?

Arggggh! I just lost my save game. Thanks to my brand new Radeon, my PC now crashes often. And now it crashed while I was saving my game. The save game is now corrupted and worthless. To make matters worst, if I use Firefox, it crashes everytime I go on the net. So not only I can't play games, but I have to use Internet explorer.
