I have played SOU with my brother. Both the original campaign and SOU is supposed to be compatible with multiplayer. And I played both campaigns in multiplayer, and I'll say it works pretty good.
HOTU is a little trickier. That game was intended to be played single player. And there are some areas that are tough to get through if you aren't the party leader. They used to have a multiplayer workaround thread in the bioware forums for HOTU. It used to be a topped sticky thread, it still may be topped. I have never played it multiplayer though, so I can't say how well it works.

just the way they designed it. I think HOTU has some special scripting and triggers that only seems to affect the party leader. There is supposed to be an item that allows you to teleport to the party leader that allows you to bypass some gates that only the party leader can pass through.Originally posted by DrSpike
Why is HotU tricky and SoU not tricky?

here's the multiplayer workaound therad.
it says you need something like the stone of recall to get the party around.

We had a few nasty crashes in HOTU with a party with three players doing co-op, and the end of Chapter 2 was so bugged that the one with the server had to use a cheat code to get us to the start of Chapter 3. Didn't miss much, but the end of Chapter 2 was pretty awful in that sense.Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

yeah but reading the last page of that thread, some people can get pretty far in the game. It still might be worth playing in multiplayer. It looks like the most problems came at the end of chapter 1, the end of chapter 2, and near the end of chapter 3 when someone teleports you to another location (the rest of the party doesn't get teleported).

I hardly played very much at all last night.
The stingers are bloody annoying though - every time you're about to kill one, they disappear back into the sand. That's not funny!
I only remembered this morning, that I've still got the Staff of Power I took from J'nah, so I might try that out next time I play (Monday night
, but we're going away for the weekend so
).
Even more annoying, when we were in the tunnels killing stingers, my character got stuck between the stupid fat dwarf girl and the wall, and I had to reload because it wouldn't let me out! I've got a dexterity of 17, and I can't squeeze around a dwarf!
