  • Okay, we have the same clues again basically. Green. Plants. Garden. And we still haven't got one Mafia, apparently.

Any way, I am still as lost as ever, so I am going to say Spaced Cowboy. He is the only one I can relate to gardening, because you know, Cowboy, farm, plants. But I suspect that ain't right either. Maybe we should all reread the intro story...

    • Tempting as it would be to have the AI I uploaded into my SMAC computer ask for vengeance against Jon Miller, whom I suspected (and was subsequently killed), it should be noted that the suspiciously helpful help-desker JM has been the main source of info about the phantom. If he was killed and he wasn't the pencils killer (who is also the killer with Kassipoeia's passcode, as a reminder, meaning that once he's done in the game's over, as everybody leaves the building), then we'd have cut off our main source of clues. Well, not we, you. Do what you think best.

Did anybody else see that first season X-Files where they had the similar set-up of a company with a super-automated building whose CEO died and the crazy AI took it over?

      • The clues have been murky, but they will get easier as the story progresses. I'm trying to balance this in favour of the Mafia since Mafia wins have been rather rare lately. Striking a balance between "obscure" and "blatantly obvious" isn't easy though.

(who is also the killer with Kassipoeia's passcode, as a reminder, meaning that once he's done in the game's over, as everybody leaves the building)
Why would they reveal the code if caught? You'll need to get all Mafia(s) for a game over, nothing more nothing less.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

Well, everybody who hasn't revealed the code so far has been tossed off the building... that can be a powerful incentive, ya know.

P.S. Kass: I agree about the Mafia winning being difficult. Let me go finish my half-written program to calculate how often the Mafia wins if people vote completely randomly (and the Mafia kills randomly), though I can tell you right now that it's not good. If the clues are helpful, things get even worse, of course. Let 'em squirm.

          • Well there were no obvious gardening clues in the prologue and I don't read OT threads about gardening, so (no doubt risking my own neck by doing so), I'm going to vote for rah purely on the basis that his ferret is in a garden.

            • I'm going for Rah as well.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

                • There must be some kind of method to all of this.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Sounds like something worth voting for... right rah?

                      • It would be amusing if Rah and Guynmeyer, the two people I voted for were the guilty culprits

                        • It wouldn't be funny at all, because then rah would be mafia two times in a row, and that just isn't cool.

You'd have to ask Kassi, he wrote it.

                              • Don't think it's Rah either, very rare to have the same mafia two games in a row, and the garden clues are pretty obvious for the ferret, and Kassi said the clues are still vague at this point.
