  • Hmmm... just noticed today that you can lay fundation to the house... not sure what difference it makes, except for the fact it looks awfull
This space is empty... or is it?

    • If you don't use foundation, you're building straight off the ground. I don't know if that has any effect, but I suspect it may make the house more prone to some sort of damage like infestations or something.

I haven't experimented with it, but you might also be able to make basements. I know you can build within the foundation and even redecorate it.

      • Just noticed that the fears and wants doesn't change that often as I thought... it's just that every morning it looks like they changes...

I haven't tried to use the basement yet, sicne I couldn't find a way to build a door to it...

But damn it's fun to see how they react and talk to each other
There's just too much to tell...

The only negative part is the camera, which can be quite annoying

        • Another thing about foundations is that they can be build overtop of slopes and bumps. If you want to have a house built on the side of a hill, it's neccisary...

          • It's interesting how things change during work... you now get options that could change things, which could either help you or make it worse for you (depending on what you choose)

            • I made a new sim family that consists of two sisters. After moving into their new house, the neighbours came to welcome them... and of course, Deiter led the pack. He even wore his military uniform (he's a recruit - atleast, untill he can find a decent job in the arts [or stealing there of]) So the always outgoing Tiffany rushed to the door to greet him (while her sister lay in bed reading). Deiter's immediate response to her welcome was to insult her, which caused her to run into the corner and begin to cry.

Of course, that only opened the door to him teasing her, but after a few more sour exchanges he decided he was being to malicious and apologized... after which they where able to have some more relaxed conversation. Atleast, untill deiter remembered about the other neighbours who came along with him - a married couple who hadn't even made it up the porch yet because they where so absorbed with each other. So, deiter thought he'd get them into the party and went down and started teasing elizabeth. She cried, too.

After that people started mixing around a bit more, and Dieter mostly just stood around looking serious, and occasionaly throwing out an insult. By the end of the day he had also made the other sister (Tiffany) cry, aswell as some other random sim that was walking down the steet.

                  • Now it actually sounds like fun... so you can control Deiter while you're on somebody else's house, or did you just make him so sour the AI will even RP him that way?

                          • Cool - now you don't need to fork out for a babysitter.

                            • I really like the fact you can see beyond your lots field of view. It gives the sense that you are in a neighbourhood and not by yourself.

I think I can remember seeing shots where you can see other houses from your own house too.

                                That's just his personality.

Infact, I don't usually control my sims at all, unless they are alone and doing nothing. The AI is really good now.
