Had the same problem earlier. found out my problem after reinstalling. When I opened a PBEM attachment the first time after installing i chose OPEN WITH and found Civilization. It would start Civ but wouldn't open the game. the right choice is "csgfile (default)." might even have to play and save a single player game first for the system to know what the default is.

Exactly...you need to start a game a save it for the Registry to correct associate teh file type, etc.

My reg entry reads:

C:\Games\CTP\ctp_program\ctp\civctp.exe -l"%1"

I'll take you on John Galt (isn't that name from some Ayn Rand novel or something?). You can choose the settings and specify whatever rules you like and send me turn 0. My email is thehappies at yahoo. I believe that makes us challenge #181.

There is is also a "quickstart" mod that gives you some advances, extra units, gold, pw, etc, that we can use if you'd like the game to get off to a quicker start. If you'd prefer that, let me know and I'll start the game and send you turn 0 along with an explanation of how the mod works.

Anyone up for a game. Never posted here and asked. I do not want to start a basic 1 settler game, but will play a PBEM game although I do nto have that mod for starting.

Also does anyone want to start a game with 10 settlers, 1 mil gold, 1 mil PW and about 15 advances. I set it up with the editor and email you the saved game for blue, and turn 0 for the second player and you pick which one you want to start with.

No matter which one, just email me and I will play. ken/dancemasseuse

I'm always (nearly) ready for a game based on Keygens PBEM Mod and a map with many goods and varied terrain (both settings should be at least 80%, but I prefer 100% goods and diverse terrain).

Milamber also seems to have disappeared, no response since October last year (have mailed him late November, no reply).
