    • I don't think I've ever played you in a 1-1 game, ricketyclick. If you're up for starting another, I can get one going. I need to hone my skills on someone before I challenge TheBirdman again.

      • Sure theHappies. Do you have Math's slic file installed?

And while I'm at it... TBM!! Hellooooo!

        • Do you mean the "quick start" mod where you start off with super settlers and stuff? Yes, I have that. I'll use it and send you turn zero. Or do you mean the slic that gives you extra little notifications when stuff happens . . . I don't think I have that.

          Nukes ok

          Map

          • Looks OK to me Before you start, I'll just email Math and see if he can tell me why my copy of his slic file has stopped working. It's good to use!

            • Send a copy of the slic file to me if/when you get it fixed and I'll try to use it.

              • What's your email address? I'll send it now and see if you can get it to work.

what's yours again? I think I might have it from some old game that had lots of players, but I'd have to look around.

Sorry for not replying sooner - no notification of your post for some reason.

OK, Math and I have solved the problem. The slic file doesn't work in Vista, but it does work in Windows XP compatibility mode. Only the launch turn needs to be played in that mode. Would you like me to set up the game, or send you the slic file?

Actually, here is the file (attached). It goes in C:\Program Files\Activision\Civilization-Call To Power\ctp_data\default\gamedata. At the end of the script.slc file in the same directory, write an include command for the addme.slc - there's another include command at the end there to get the right syntax.

                    • So me and ricketyclick started a new game. Not sure what number challenge it is or if we're really keeping the ladder updated or anything. But at least we're on record. Turn 2 away!! Woo hoo.

                              • ya, i already tried that. it all works now after several reinstalls. Even the installer quit on me a couple of times. Successfully installed it under safe mode. There must be an application conflict. Anyways, everything is working, I just have to make the resolution widescreen - 1680x1050. I've had widescreen options in there before but now all i have is 4:3 resolutions. 1024x768 etc. Can anyone fix that?
