The second choice is good if you want to be infamous
Ok, that's fine then. Just looked unusual

And I have to ask, what did you think of the SMAC-style building quotes?
Not that big a fan for now, but that's more because of the voice-acting I think. I'd like to cut you some slack there but it just doesn't sound that great atm. It just screams mod imo and even though I know from a rational point of view how hard it is to get great voice acting it's still difficult to ignore.

I've attached the latest save, take a look if you want. Note that my biggest army just got wiped out due to that stupid bouncing and I know that I have to much influence lying around It's just so tedious to use.

Ah yes, that's very true. I'd say that the Tavern saying is the only that would sound acceptable in a real game. The others are indeed very much amateurish and, in one case, even recorded with a backup microphone.

Are you using the shortcut menu to cast miracles, or the miracle window?

        Shortcut menu ? Damn

In my defence, I like to just start and play the game and read the manual later

Another thing regarding the sounds, they are often triggered too early, when there are still other messages which can be quite confusing.

Hold down Control and then right-click the province. That's quite a bit faster, and generally a better thing to do if you already know which spells/miracles you want. On the other hand, I'm glad you could figure enough out without the manual

And so you think it'd be better if the building sounds started playing when the message notifying you of the building appears?

Well, I had it happen that I got 3 or 4 other messages before I got to the building one. Which is why I thought it was confusing, in fact at first I thought it came from my browser Didn't really make the connection for a minute or so.

Fair point. But if you start hearing Vel's voice from a browser, it's time to run like hell

LOL! Good point, Solver, and an excellent point, Nims, re: the voiceovers for the buildings. First generation and all that, but the points are well taken indeed, and gives us a definite list of things we need to work on!

And I'll take a look at the save now, but as Solver says, the shortcut keys make the spells, influence, and manna much easier to use! In fact, once you start using the shortcut keys, my hunch is that you won't go back! (which tells me we need to rethink that a bit...)

Funny thing is I was going to suggest the right click on provinces Only to find out that it's already in

Did you try to cast a spell when it crashed? If not, must have been the AI. And of course, try reloading that save yourself

Was looking at your save game (not the crash one, the one before) and you're in a strong position! In that situation, I think I'd extort the crap out of westkeep, eastgate, trentare, then whatever else I could of the mystics to slow them down, and pound the dickens out of castillar to shrink them in size (fury is expanding slow, so is not as big a threat, but will eventually get there). Just make sure that when you attack the Castillars, you use purging or two attack forces, cos they'll inevitably have an intercession where you wanna go.

                              Good game!
