    • Thank you guys for the birthday wish. I am against a time warp for many of the same reasons that have been mentioned. But the idea of a summary is good so I will get to work on implamenting one. Maybe it won't be a complete summary but just desescribing what has happened. This way it hopefully wont keep them from actually reading the story thread. Ideas are appreciated on how to do this.

      BTW.

How did each of you find BAC to begin with? Maybe we can get ideas on how to bring it back to the people sort of speak.

Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

        Cheers.

I found BAC by just flicking through the AC forums and I was curious what goes on in the Fiction forums. So I just popped in, read about a discussion about BAC in a thread and posted my interest! At first though, I feared immediate rejection since I was new and many of the people (like Kass) are writers whose excellent work I've read about. So I was more than relieved to be allowed to join!

I'd been going through the AC-Fiction forum for a while before I registered, and I decided to join BAc a couple of days later.

The Chiron Chronicle was in the middle of a timewarp and I saw that Sprayber had posted a thread called "Thinking of a New Story Thread" or some such. I thought it was a good idea and said so very quickly, but didn't start actively contributing ideas, let alone actively join up, for a couple of weeks.

But before that, I joined the Chiron Chronicle by reading through some of the most recent discussion posts and posting (very cautiously) my interest to join. I had already been interested in Alpha Centauri fan fiction due to an abortive attempt to write some of my own. Unfortunately, AC-Fiction doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic these days, probably contributing to the lack of "walk-ins" like myself, Franky, the General, and Cybergod.

            • Mr. Prez-you're brutal!

"How I found BAC"...well, I joined Apolyton and just stuck around the General AC thread. I got adventurous (sp?) and lurked in here. After looking over the newly created BAC sign-in thread, I decided to join. Since no-one was signed up to be the Human Hive, I volunteered...the rest is history. Basically I came upon BAC by curiosity and courage.

Cybergod- Avatar rocks! Where'd it come from?....and your pretty brutal too for jabbing me when I was a little tipsy. I may be an apiring tyrant, but I have feelings too!

At least Mellian (if that was what you were referring to) never advocates genocide like CyberGnu. Some people in the OT carry around some really nasty quotations of his for the world to see.

                • Hey Final Fantasy lovers!

I just a minute ago ran across a Final Fantasy website that might be fun. It's got fan art, and a forum, and probably other cool things (I haven't taken a good look at it yet). Check out: www.ffgurus.net.

Can you list some of them? I'd like to add them to my quotes file.

                    • Here's one I ran across myself:

"Well, then we should wipe you from the face of the earth. Israel does not have a place among civilized nations with that mindset..."
This is The Mad Monk's signature:

"As it is, the guy killed a settler... And that is reprehensible how?" - CyberGnu, who has requested that I clarify in the above quote that "settler = invading soldier".
"Well, there we're back to that oxymoron again: innocent civilians of Israel ..." - CyberGnu, who did not request any clarification on this one.
Noted peacenik Sirotnikov, though, holds the record as far as I know with a whopping three CyberGnu quotations in his signature:

"The whole plan of Israel was to milk post-holocaust sympathy until it had occupied the land long enough for people to forget that it was stolen in the first place."

"The festering wound that is Israel corrupts the entire civilized world, showcasing how propaganda and sufficient bribe money for politicians can overcome ideals such as justice and freedom."

"I thought Israel already had a national anthem... What is the name again... Israel Uber Alles?"
I'm sure there are many more out there, but these are all the ones I can find easily. You'd probably be able to find some other "enlightening" quotes by looking through his post history.

                      • Thanks. I've added them to my quotes file for future refernce. Other people collect stamps or model cars; I collect quotes .

That might be a bit difficult, seeing as how I have him on my ignore list and have no intention of removing him...

                        • btw guys, I will be leaving in a couple of days time for my aunt's place, as my parents are going to Bendigo to organize a big orienteering event. I don't know if I'll be able to use the internet there, but I'm not counting on it and I won't be able to use it nearly as much, though I may be able to do some posting from school. Just though you should know.

EDIT: I expect to be back sometime on Sunday.

The summary idea sounds good. I might be needing some catching up with the story, so I could write it.

'tis a bit late, but happy birthday Sprayber. You're a real friend.

IIRC, it was Sprayber in the first place who got me writing CC and leaving the Off Topic, well, at least for the time being. And after CC, in came BAC - I remember participating in the discussion in the very first thread about the new idea, so, like many of you too, I've been here since the beginning.

                              • Oh, good that you pointed that out. Looks like BAC was in a sense ahead of it's time. And some science fiction is meanwhile rendered obsolete, once again.

Btw, is AC Fiction of Poly the only AC Fiction community over the internet? Are there any others?
