I don't see a 'friend pledge' (.sp) offered in the online vers. as opposed to the CPU and Detrius wants to sniff around on my land. I would permit this if I had some way of implying that I have definition in my boundaries. Better defined boundaries mean better relations with foreign contacts.

Sorry for the 'unexcused' absences above, Detrius. The 'gaiainst At gmail DOT com" IS my official new home. It is a nod to the 'gaia institute' in Denmark.

Also, according to my copy of SMacX, everyone BUT me is dominating.

maya, to sign a treaty in MP: you have to click on Detrius' name, click on "offer treaty", click on "accept" and then exit this window. Detrius will get a notification of this diplomacy offer in his turn, and can then also click on "accept" (or "decline").

If I recall correctly, Detrius can't see your borders before contact is made, so he should see them from now on.

maia: you shouldnt let us all know what detrius is doing on your land.
keep with pm or emails when debating political matters. also it doesnt take several turns then to work out a deal.

what more could i write in italics. hmm, how bout Italy ?

what do you think of this, guys:

every player should try to make his turn within 36 hours he got it. if he doesnt, he should give an excuse, if possible before he sends his turn.
so like: next 3 days im on holiday.
or: this weekend will be party only, so i wont get to make my turn.

that way, we wont get nervous when someone takes a long time making his turn.
i, for example, check this board once or twice a day. if i see no progress, i just feel, erm, well...you know upset.

so, could we pleaase try to do it like this?

(i want to finish the game within the next year!)

i didnt intend to flame anyone. im sure everyone is keen on playing the game as often as possible.
at least thats the case with me.
thats why i asked why we arent proceeding any faster; coz right now its just too slow for my gusto

I don't like "fixed" turn times. If you set those, people will think "oh, I've got 2 days left for this one, no need to hurry".

I just play all the turns in the order I receive them, when I have time. It's just a matter of balancing the number of games you're in versus your available time.

If you feel you have too much time and too few games, join a few others, but also be fair, and if you notice you can't handle all the games, ask for a replacement in a few of them.

I don't think anyone is seriously lacking in this game.

(btw: I was on holiday monday-tuesday-wednesday)

i only want to concentrate on one game. hard enough for me (time).
its just that when i have much spare time, id rather spend it playing smac (multiplayer). i enjoy it very much and hope that we can all play till the end (no replacement).
