It arrived when Buster was fiddling with alphax.txt. The unit count entered after line #UNITS must have been wrong. That's why it's always a good idea to enter your new units after all the predefined. Otherwise these strange units appear.

Hmmmm. My best guess is that I've failed to be clean with my editing of alphax.txt. Though I checked now and its fine, I can't guarentee it was at the creation of this game. I also don't remember which computer it was I created this game on, which just further complicates things.

21 to maia.
i reloaded twice. first time forest expanded, i clicked "show and delete" it crashed the program. second time i popped a pod, it said infested with lifeforms, two of them, also minerals. now, one was a mindworm. the other ive never seen before. looked like a flying fortress. had 3-1 (attack defense). i wanted to attack it first, combat odds were like 38-178. well, now guess why i reloaded? this time pod had earhquake.
senethro, i think i can remember how the unit pic looked like, if its of any help.
erm, and ive also never seen a unit (one of maias scout in this case) that has 1-1-1#. can you tell me what kind of enhancement this is?

1-1-1# is designated defender. That unit will be chosen first to defend its tile. Good for making people wade through cheap units by spamming scouts into a vulnerable base.
The broken alien life form is indeed my fault and I don't believe theres anything to be done about it.
Pjays bonus industry is misleading. You all have bonus industry because you are playing on a small map. One feature of this that I hadn't noticed before was that Maia doesn't get extra industry when using Planned on top of this. I'm guessing that if the rest of you were to use Planned or Wealth on their own then you wouldn't receive the industry bonus either. If you used both then I would expect you to receive the normal +2 industry bonus. (8mins per row).

I noticed it when founding a new base and receiving 1 row + 1 mineral from the start. Except for that, I probably wouldn't have noticed it either..
It's good to know though that wealth/planned on their own won't add an industry bonus.
I don't know about the flying aliens... I'm not in favour of allowing a reload everytime you pop one. I'd rather have it we all consider pods more dangerous now and remember to only send a very cheap or a sufficiently armed unit to pop the pods.
Senethro, can these units be captured / built by players ? Can they appear out of nowhere ? Do they use psych-combat or regular combat ? (just to know how to protect my precious free marketsno sig
