    I've done it!!!

    MY 2125, science report

The Atlantean council listened to the report of the scientific board representative.

"Yes, councelors." The scientist said "This is a very important breakthrough."
"The information gathered onboard Unity during the stressfull hours before Planetfall allowed us to investigate and correlate throughly how people interact in dire circumstances."

"Might be, doctor" the military councelor interrupted, "But I fail to see how circumstances in space apply to events here on Chiron."
"Those are two completely different things in my humble opinion."

"But that's just the beauty of it, commander" the scientist continued, "It is how humans themself react on and in a hostile environment."
"And don't be mistaken, Chiron is still a hostile environment to us, not to mention our habit of living undersea."
"Our research showed us a way to minimize the psychic effects Chiron's native life has on us."
"Disciplined people willing to learn this hypnotic ability will have a very good chance of withstanding those kind of assaults." the scientist finished.

"Well doctor, this is great news indeed." Geo added. "If I understand you correctly, we have mustered the very secrets of our brains?!"

    • Lucky. I've been too busy researching other more..."combat oriented" skills to worry about human brain.

        Conversation Piece, M.Y. 2125
        - I guess this is good news, then?
        - Of course it is, Nataliya. We have, although vaguely, a general understanding of our human company here.
        - ...but we've only just made contact, Doctor?
        - Contact, yes. But consider the circumstances. Could it be mere coincidence that contact was to be established in that region? I think not. The seismic activity clearly directed the attention of scout units--not only did we dispatch an investigation team--so did the other leaders.
        - So, you are implying that the factional interest in this region is suggesting that others are keen on exploring the planet surface and pursuing new scientific discoveries? That our agenda reflects the general interest?
        - Indeed, Nataliya! The seismic activity is interesting in itself and there is a possibility that we are not the only ones to acknowledge this.
        - ...
        - Yes, I know what you are thinking--and that is also true. The fact that most human endeavors suffer from lack of commitment once the novelty and initial interest become instances of the past. Well, we'll need to monitor the situation closely then.

I'm getting frightened receiving this turn...

                  Non-classified Alien Investigation, M.Y. 2126:
After the tectonic stabilizing in area E8+ University scout unit, #RU-RR2, picked up a vague transmission--not unlike a distress signal. We have located the source and--as your crew aboard the naval scout in the region has observed--it seems to be some kind of native or alien device. It is beyond doubt, however, that the device is somehow crafted. That is to say, we are still not entirely sure what it is. The currently classified report has been filed as #1187-b and #1777.

                      • Turn played and on... Welcome on Planet, Doctor

Btw, Sankis, Barinthus. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it custom to announce the start of SP's in a PBEM?

I didn't see anything in the rules about it...

I'm interested to know this too, as this is my first PBEM...

Either way I'll start announcing them in my updates.

(By the way, i'm at school right now. Can't get to the turn until 3 pm EST (~5 hours))

                            • Turn done, passed to Angels
Mail sent to all members of the game regarding the planetary council I started up. (accidently, but oh well. Might as well.)
                              ==============================================

"Greetings, Citizens of Planet. It has been a long 28 years on Chiron. From worms that attack with their minds, to mountains rising from the ocean.

Today, I bring both good and bad news. The first elections in the history of Chiron have been iniated. (OOC: Check your email for further details).

However, there is more ominous news.

Another mountain has risen from the ocean! Dubbed 'Mount Verde' by Nautilus scientists due to the nutrients located on the peak, it is located at coordinates 15, 35 in Nautilus Territory by the (former) sea colony of Crow's Nest. Scouting parties will be permitted to view the mountain and study it if you inform Nautilus Authorities ahead of time.

                              Captain Sankis out."

                              • Planetary Council already enabled in 2128, this game is really interesting. These two new mountains will probably not change the terrain a lot. Anyway I think you will at some point use ecological engineering as "silent weapon".

Rubin, thank you for the last turn you sent me.
