  • Isn't that from Uncharted Waters?
At least it seems that the blue blob could be CT ICSing with his CyCon.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

          Nothing Vim can't fix:

I wouldn't advise doing the same with mindworms, though. They all look pretty much the same:

          • Actually I find the voxel-model of the mindworm much better than the icon model. If my memory doesn't fail me, they changed the mind worm model to the icon style in one of the first after-release patches. But I was already so used to the "pile of vomit" from playing the demo. It's funnier to see the worms in the pile actually squrim when they move rather than sliding a static bitmap around.

And your screenshot is wrong by the last four life cycles being the same, Leon. They still grow somewhat towards demon boil.

            • Well, as I was setting the morale of the creatures I noticed those looked very similar, so I checked that they were correct. That's the way they look on my computer.

I guess another reason why they replaced them was the confusion with the Isle of the Deep. It would be hard to determine the number of units composing a native drop.

              • Roads
I am firmly convinced to not build roads. They let enemies in easily, and it dosnt take very much time to get CP around anyway. Besides it looks cool this way. Also, boreholes generate FAR FAR to much ecodamage to be viable...when you get ecodamage global warming can destroy your faction quickly.

Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendant, and to embrace them is to acheive enlightenment.

I tried to replicate it. But there seems to be something in the game that restricts the life cycle of native life - probably a safety measure like the 15-year-to-full-psi-strength against alien units becoming demon boils too early and rampaging through the young factions. It probably gets lifted as the game years progress.

You can create faction mind worms wuith the scenario editor though and beef them up to demon boils without a problem. And they look bigger.

I guess that where you're going you don't need roads. Zaky was wrong about time travel after all.

I placed a few native mindworms in the map, changed the mission year to 2201, and they automagically evolved to pre-boil status. I couldn't get them to have less than that, or more than Great Boil. This could lead to some interesting conclusions, but I am far too lazy and far too idiot to do the research.
Anyway, you were right. From now and on I'll be using the pile of puke model. Thanks.

                              • The good news: continent is mine.
The bad news: my elite ground based probe teams are now living in welfare.

It is not a screenshot, but I think it belongs here:
I eliminated Aki in the first years. She restarted somewhere far away. I got her frequency from someone else, and kept contacting her, but she always asked for a tech in exchange for peace. This went on for a long time, almost a century. Seeing that she was harmless, I decided to give her the tech, and following that, she surrenders! Now that's some weird behaviour.
