Just out of curiousity, if Canucks in 4 is the "non homer pick" what would the homer pick be? Canucks in 3? San Jose conceding defeat before the start of the series and just going out to shake hands?

Before the playoffs started (apologies for not posting this earlier ) I was cheering for the teams that had never won a cup, and the Canadian teams (though having a hard time cheering for either of the Canadie/an teams as Montreal and Vancouver both are just barely in my top 6 ....earlier tonight I thought the only non-cup winner was also going to be the only Canadie/an team left....and admiting to cheering for Vancouver would just feel wrong. Thankfully San Jose won.

Niemi was excellent overall but the Wings second goal-- as pretty as it was to pick the top corner, should not have been scored. When a player is that wide a goalie should have the angle

IN my view it was a bad goal. But since he did not then surrender the tying goal it is far more excusable.

I think SJ will give Vancouver a better test than Detroit would have--I have a lot of respect for Detroit but they were so banged up that they would have had a tough time.

They are a good team. But Chicago with Crawford playing at his best is a better team. The Canucks are just better in all aspects, in net, in defense and in forward. They are deeper than San Jose, particularly in the back end. Forward depth is pretty close, but the Canucks even minus Malhotra are still stronger. Which speaks volumes about Gillis.
