I'm thinking the Cowboys receiving group have had more 1000 yard performances in the past five seasons than any other receiving group in the NFL.

If you're going to try to match the production of skill position players across teams, you have to factor in things like coaching/offensive philosophy, offensive line play, and even the defense (playing from behind) and special teams (field position). It's not an apples-to-apples thing.

While I tend to agree that Romo has not lacked for good skill players around him, this type of so-called factual support to any cross-team comparative football argument is lame.

That's why I'm comparing them to the league as a whole. The top Dallas receivers have had more 1000 yard seasons than any group of receivers on any other team... even intuitively, the group is behind or around only Green Bay, Warner-era Arizona, and the 2010 Eagles.


Sloww's claim that Romo's receivers hold him back is preposterous. One could make an argument Romo is so good BECAUSE of his receivers. The man has been blessed with league-leading talent around him.

And you don't want the cutoff to get too low... 1000 yards is the general cutoff for what is considered a top NFL WR.
