1. When I said his job wasn't guaranteed, I said absolutely nothing about Kolb as a QB.
2. Later, I merely called him relatively immobile (which, granted, is debatable). But I never said he was bad, that he couldn't or wouldn't succeed.

I stand corrected on Kolb. He's in a situation the same as Rivers was in 2006 when Brees was traded. It's still too early to judge. That's all I'm saying. If he does terrible this year, then fine, but I don't think we have enough body of work to make any kind of determination as to his future performance.

Reid and the Eagles are high on Kolb and have all intentions to have him be their QB this year but if he comes out playing like Trent Edwards, there is no way Reid is going to keep him as the starter. Having Vick on the bench only makes that decision a bit easier. I am not saying that Kolb will stink. I think Kolb will do very well but what I think isn't necessarily going to be how things turn out.

By the way, how about that QB draft class that year?

You are out of your mind if you think that if the Eagles fall apart and start the season 2-6 and Kolb plays like Trent Edwards that he isn't going to be benched. Reid has benched his QB before (McNabb)... Reid has spent offseason after offseason insisting that McNabb is his franchise QB and is not going to be traded... Reid is stubborn but he also goes back on his word.

Kolb will not be bad but I'm just saying... very few QB's have complete job security... just this Sunday, we saw Edwards, Moore, Campbell, Young, and Garrard all benched. FIVE quarterbacks benched in Week 2! Going into the season, you would have thought Campbell and Young were very secure in their jobs. It only took 2 weeks for that to be questioned.

I've said repeatedly I think Kolb will be fine and will look like the other QB's who sat on the bench for years behind an established starter (like Rivers and Rodgers)... I'm just saying that his job is not guaranteed. Reid and the Eagles organization clearly believe he is their man so he will be the starter as long as he's healthy for the next several games but if he does flame out, the fact that Vick played so well, will give more incentive for Reid to bench Kolb than had Vick not played.

I should note the 'really good' came against the Saints who very quickly ran up the score so Kolb was playing in garbage time pretty much the entire game and against your beloved Chiefs Those two games last season, to me, are meaningless.

If two games meant something then Billy Volek should be a pro bowler right now. Remember when McNair went down and he and Drew Bennett looked other-worldly?

Billy Volek in Weeks 13 and 14 of the 2004 season... 69/103 for 918 yards and 8 TD's plus 1 rushing TD in TWO freaking games! Holy **** that's absurd.
In those two games, Drew Bennet had 25 catches 393 yards and 5 TD's! In two ****ing games.

Yet both of them fell off the face of the earth after those games.

Oh, and who gives a flying Dutchmen about Philadelphia? They will battle it out with a terrible Dallas team to see who is worse than the Giants and better than a terrible Redskins team (Schaub had almost 500 yards passing... nice secondary!).

Vick is an awful passer. My dead grandmother could throw for 270 yards against the Lions. And the Eagles only won by 3 points. They let the Lions, with their 2nd string QB, put up 32 points on them... nice D!

Philly should be worried. QB is not your biggest concern. And the Kolb issue will be moot. He's going to get injured again when Reid throws him back out there. Then Vick can run around and be a bad passer until some linebacker or DB cleans his clock on one of those designed runs. Who's the 3rd stringer?

I would like to point out something that has gotten lost in the shuffle with the Cowboys' 0-2 start...

Miles Austin has 20 catches for 288 yards in the first two games. It's great to see an undrafted guy out of a school like Monmouth play at such an elite level. Romo and Miles look like one hell of an UNDRAFTED QB/WR tandem.

Umm, no. Collins/Young was a controversy last year, and Campbell plays for Al Davis. Why on earth did you think they were secure? Both are known, below average NFL QBs. Kolb is an unknown.
