NFL - Are You Ready For Some Football?! - Off Season
Ah... Brett Favre and Randy Moss, the two biggest cliff-fallers last year...

"I have nothing against Wilson, but he's nowhere near the same calibre of QB as Flutie. Flutie threw for 5k+ yards in the CFL." -Ben Kenobi
Everyone else drafted a fantasy starter and a Alex Smith, Trent Edwards, Jason Campbell, Matt Moore, etc. kind of backup. Joncha wanted 3 fantasy studs at QB!
That's why the rest of his team sucked ass

The dilemma is they're not distributed between RB and WR equally. For example, Jaguar got what looks like 680 points from all his RB's but that includes him getting 200 or so from a third RB which he flexed 90% of the time. The worst at RB (Imran) got barely more than 200 points but never flexed an RB any game that entire season; he flexed WR's 100% of the time.
For our purposes, what do you compare to determine just how steep the RB line is? Jaguar's 680 points from 2.9 RB's to Imran's 200 points from 2 RB's? Or Jaguar's 480 points from 2 RB's to Imran's 200 points from 2 RB's?
Get what I'm saying? The former would give a much steeper line than the latter but that's because Jaguar had a third RB contributing to that point total!
I don't see why that matters when we had a draft and choices and the flex choices really were coaching and draft decisions and the flex RB did in fact rotate between RB and Flex throughout the season. Furthermore, In a perfect world I'd track who played flex and who didn't on a per player basis to make it somewhat more clear. Regardless, if you take away the flex the #1 RB team still has 2.5x the points compared to the worst RB team.

That right there is also why the two teams who lagged at QB, lagged by so much.

So had, let's say, Snoopy gotten Matt Ryan and I got Kyle Orton, while joncha took my Jason Campbell or Snoopy's Chad Henne to back up Philip Rivers... then the distribution of QB points would have been much flatter?

The thorough discussion I was referring to was actually on day one of the draft when Jaguar and I talked about how important or not important drafting a QB in the first round is. I remember Jaguar set up his responses to me in an interview format.
The discussion was pointless, though. Jaguar would prove me wrong on his way to a perfect season.

Well, Jaguar had been through a 14-team league before (IDP'09). One of the primary lessons we all learned was that, with that many teams, quality QBs are in short supply.

I believe it would. Ryan had 435, Rivers 466, Orton 334. As is, you got half of Orton's number alone. I'm unsure if that's a 16 week number or a 17 week number.

Highlighted players either got injured or had seasons that didn't warrant their picks.
So many WRs that weren't in the first 4 rounds did well, a great many of RBs did decently and weren't picked in the first 4 but by and large were very consistent. With the exception of Romo most 1st and 2nd round QBs did well but there wasn't huge separation between them, it was only after the first few rounds that it changed.

And the other thing to remember is that Jag picked Foster in the 8th round after I was picking up terrible RBs (I passed on Bradshaw, Foster, McFadden). The 7th and 8th round had some really solid picks.

Another fun fact; my first 4 picks were the only players still on my team at the end of the season.

That's why I never understand a slow down at any point in the draft. The first few are pretty much a given, dictated by how you've plotted your course. The last few are fill in at positions and are hit and miss, so why agonize over it?

Frank Gore was a good pick. He got hurt Week 12 so it didn't mean much for fantasy and he had 1305 all-purpose yards up until that point and 46 receptions. He only had a few TDs but he was putting up some good yardage numbers (not to mention leading RB's in catches) til he went down.
