stupid late TD to Colston dropped the Cleveland D production to 29.40. Still a monster performance. If the Browns had a legitimate offense, their defense would be dominant. They have the players.

33.40 fantasy points so far from the Cleveland D in our format.
3 sacks, 4 INTs, and 2 defensive TD's for the Cleveland Browns and the game isn't even over yet."I hope I get to punch you in the face one day" - MRT144, Imran Siddiqui

I just would find it hilarious since you gave me so much grief over drafting the Browns and they've been a solid D this year and this week's game puts them into the top fantasy D's in our format. And they did it against one of the league's best offenses."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

fun fact. Kenny Britt was only started in 24.6% of ESPN fantasy leagues. I think with the whole bar fight thing and Kerry Collins at QB, only people in the deepest leagues started him and then only because they had no choice."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Wooohooo!
At the last minute, (like 5 minutes before gametime), I started WR J.Maclin (Phi) and benched WR K.Britt (Ten)! It don't get no better than that!!!Founder of The Glory of War, CHAMPIONS OF APOLYTON!!!

ACK!
How would he get 40+?"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Okay, in D/ST league, Brees had 28.45 points which I think is too high for his day, but it's not even near 40+ points.
The problem with our D/ST scoring is it gives credit for completions. I don't see much logic in that since it's just exaggerating the fantasy points of top QB's in pass first offenses who already will rack up the yardage and the TD opportunities so what's the logic in imbalancing them even more by giving points for essentially every time they throw the ball? On top of that, there's no accounting for a better measure of a QB's skill which is yards per attempt.
One QB throws 35/55 for 300 yards (63% completion and a miserable 5.45 Y/C so like a checkdown performance) 12.5 points from completions
Another QB throws 20/25 for 300 yards (80% completion and 12 Y/C so greatest QB performance ever pretty much) 8.75 points from completions
Explain to me how it makes any sense to value the first QB higher for fantasy? And yet our Apolyton-style scoring has been doing this for years!
I think we should switch our Apolyton scoring to something completion % based next year if yahoo allows. Something like X points for 50-54.9 completion %, Y points for 55-59.9%, Z points for 60-64.9%, etc. That way we can get the points for completions and minuses for attempts thing without giving added bonus to QB's who throw 50 times a game who will have big yardage numbers by default as is and not rewarding players who throw and throw a lot of short dump-offs.Last edited by Al B. The only way to not have arbitrary fantasy football is to go basic as hell and reward only points scored and nothing else. That wouldn't be much fun though"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Comparison from this week...
Brees: 37/56 (66%) 354 yards (6.32 Y/A) and 2 TDs and 4 INTS... 28.45 fantasy points
Big Ben: 19/27 (70%) 302 yards (11.18 Y/A) and 2 TDs and 1 fumble... 28.70 fantasy points
Umm.. something's broken if Big Ben had nearly twice the Y/A, had 4 points higher completion %, DIDN'T THROW 4 FREAKING PICKS, yet has essentially the same fantasy points as Brees. Who played better? And not just better, MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER?
Guess which one had the 132.0 QB rating and which one had the 65.8? Yet their fantasy output is nearly identical.Last edited by Al B. Sure!; October 24, 2010, 18:13."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi
