Against the Packers, McCoy had 7 carries to Vick's 11. McCoy will typically be in the 7-15 carry range but will get 5-7 catches a game.

You would have to be a complete nimrod to start Vick over Brady.Originally posted by Al B. Sure! View PostHuh? Berzerker don't pull a Slowwhand now.. Ben was obviously referring to Shonn Greene when he said he had two fumbles... you responded to that and noted that he at least is able to catch passes and I responded saying he was dropping them left and right. Where the hell did Brandon Jackson come into the conversation?

Donegeal, so what was the end result between starting the Jets over the Steelers? I see the Jets gave up 282 yards and the Steelers 295 so close... I suppose all the Jets turnovers gave them the edge.

You know what Brady can do and Vick is a question mark. It depends on how daring you are (or how much you need to take a risk judging from the expected production of the rest of your guys and of the guys on your opponent's team). If you want to take the risk for fun, go with Vick but if you want to play it safe, Brady is about as good as you can get. Vick is poised to have a big game against Detroit but who knows what could happen.

I would honestly probably go with Vick for the hell of it but it depends on your risk tolerance...Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

The end result of me starting the Jets over Pit was... I lost the Defense Category 10-0, but still won my game. Sound confusing? I don't play a traditional FF game where stats translate directly into points. I play in a FFL that is a category system, where player's (and Team Defense) actual stats get totaled and then compared to your opponents totals. Based on how well you stack up against your opponent, the categories are scored one of 4 ways: 3-3 (tie), 7-3 (close victory), 7-0 (normal victory) and 10-0 (a blowout). The six stat categories we use are Rushing uards, Receiving yards, Passing yards, Defensive yards allowed, TD points and Kicking/PAT/S. My defense allowed 282 yards. My opponents defense allowed 176 yards (He had Baltimore). I lost the category by 106 yards. A blowout in the Defensive category is 100 yards or greater. So, in the end, who I picked didn't make any difference.Originally posted by Al B. Sure! View PostDonegeal, so what was the end result between starting the Jets over the Steelers? By the way, if any of you are interested in learning more about a category scoring system, let me know. It is by far the best and most realistic score system I have ever come across (and I have been looking for 18 years). I am actually experimenting this season with a system that replaces the Def category with a Return yardage category and go with IDP. This experiment is rosterless, so you'd get to take your pick of the littler for each starting roster spot each week. Let me know.Founder of The Glory of War, CHAMPIONS OF APOLYTON!!!

It seems like the Bills organization have their heads so up their own asses that they're not willing to trade a bit player buried on the depth chart who has given the team a lot of headaches in his short career so this doesn't look like it will be happening right now. Of course, they could just be waiting til after the Packers-Bills game. Wouldn't be surprised to see a trade soon after the game. However, the Bills have hardly been brilliant the last several years with regards to player management so waiting til after the game might not be the case... the Bills office might really be full of idiots.Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui View PostWell until the Packers trade for Marshawn Lynch of something . .

Ok starting Jamaal Charles, Ahmad Bradshaw, Brandon Marshall, and Larry Fitzgerald... have Maclin, Naanee, and Gaffney on the bench. Any last minute reasons why I should shuffle my starting lineup? Fitz has a tough matchup against Atlanta and a bum knee but I don't know if I should sit a guy like him. Maclin is against Detroit, Naanee against Jacksonville, and Gaffney against Seattle so some good matchups but none of them are Fitz."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

EPW's Ultimate IDP Week 2 Predictions
 Last Week: 3-3
 Overall: 3-3

 Forte's Fireman(11) vs. Hairball Express(12)
The Forte's Fireman's offense struggled mightily last week against tough opponents, and it doesn't look much easier this week. Shonn Greene will have to do something this week and a big game from Michael Bush against the hapless Rams could push Snoopy over the top. But the Hairballs have to be the favorites, with favorable match-ups in the QB and WR department. The Fireman should have the edge defensively, but it won't quite be enough to overcome the Hairball's attack.Hairball Express wins 150-130.

Dallas Dwarf Tossers(5) vs. Topeka Twisters(10)
Despite a bad performance last week, the Twister's team is still formidable and has far more talent than the Dwarf Tossers. Futhermore, DDT's entire offense, except for Matt Ryan, are playing away games. This game will come down to DDT's 3WRs and Twister's 3RBs, and the Twisters have the clear advantage.Topeka Twisters win 145-120

 PornHuskers(9) vs. Mountain Goats(1)
This will probably be the highest combined scoring game of the week. The Pornhuskers team is high powered despite last weeks performance, and the Mountain Goats may have a monster of a team. The Matchups are fairly even overall and shouldn't make the difference this week. The edge has to go to the Goats though: they are slightly better across the offense, and have a superior defense. Mountain Goats win 180-160

 Vicious Rabbits(8) vs. Random Encounter(6)
Yahoo projections has Random Encounter winning by a fairly substantial margin, and their players seem better on paper. But I think the Rabbits will pull out a surprise win, with big days from Frank Gore and Cutler. I think Encounter's RB's will struggle and Tom Brady will under perform slightly against the NYJ. Nevertheless, this will be a close game and may come down to the defense.
 Vicious Rabbits win 135-130

 Teh Peeled Bananas(3) vs. Deviations(7)
Despite losing, the Deviations were the 4th highest scoring team last week and is a formidable opponent. Unfortunately for them, they are facing the reigning champions this week and will lose despite putting up good numbers. Jonathan Stewart and Brett Celek are set to rebound from last week's disappointing performances as the go up against lousy teams. Eli Manning should break 30 points again this week against the week Ind. Pass defense. The other player's matchups aren't bad and they should meet or exceed yahoo's projections. In addition, The Bananas new DB corps will surprise this week putting up a combined 20 points. On the other side, the Deviations will do well-in paticular MJD should have a great game. But it won't be nearly enough.
 Teh Peeled Bananas win 185-140

 GAME OF THE WEEK:

 KenobilovesLT(4) vs. Calamitous Intent(2)
Although neither of these teams are in the top4 talent-wise, they play in the only game this week where both teams actually have a win. This game could be a blowout as the Calamitous Intent has a superior QB and RB corps over their opponent. But the Intent's WRs will struggle, and Colston may make it interesting on Monday.Calamitous Intent wins 150-130"

Trades are rare in my league... mostly because about 2/5th of the league wants nothing to do with the league Tues through Saturday.

However, I see a possible trade as I now have two good QBs (and it will look like I have two superstar QBs after today). I'm a little weak in RBs, having J.Harrison (Cle) and Cadilac (TB). There is a team out there that has Kolb (Phi) and Garrard (Jac) but is stacked at RB with Gore (SF) and J.Charles (KC).

Do you think that a Vick and Harrison/Cadilac for Gore or Charles? May want to wait till after todays games to answer that question.Founder of The Glory of War, CHAMPIONS OF APOLYTON!!!

I wouldn't make that trade if I had Gore or Charles. I would ride Garrard who is playing well until Kolb comes back. But, you're in luck that Vick has a relatively easy matchup against Detroit and Jerome Harrison is playing the opponent that he ran for 286 yards on last year. Your potential trade partner might know that as well though and look at this week's performances with that in mind.Originally posted by Donegeal View PostTrades are rare in my league... mostly because about 2/5th of the league wants nothing to do with the league Tues through Saturday.

Vick just isn't a big enough improvement over Garrard to warrant the large sacrifice in quality from Gore or Charles to Harrison or Cadillac. I wouldn't do it."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

One game does not a season make... not to mention the fact that Vick isn't supposed to take over the starting job so trading for Vick is most likely a temporary solution. I still wouldn't do it."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi
