Heck, it's been 32 years since they've been. Even the Bolts have made it to the dance more recently.

2015 APOLYTON FANTASY FOOTBALL CHAMPION!
I'm with you Duke -- terrible PI call. bad non-overrule on that dropped ball -- but the Vikes should have had it in regulation. They outplayed the Saints in every way except holding onto the football. AD you kind of expect it a little at this point, but one was an exchange issue, and Percy's and Berrian's were just totally flukey. Typical Vikings gut punch loss. Now we're in for a year of "please Favre one more year".
I'm a little pissed the experts are bashing the end of regulation play calling though. I thought "run three times, gain 5 yards, kick a 48 yard field goal" was a good plan. 12 men in the huddle not so much. I also didn't think Favre could have had much if he had kept it on that boot. Maybe three yards. Not sure of the exact yardage at that point, but a scramble of that length might have made it a 52 yard field goal at best -- that's better than a pick obviously, but I can't really blame him for trying to squeeze one in at that point after the coaching staff put him in that position with a 12 man in the huddle blunder.
Ugh.
I honestly didn't actually watch much of that game -- paced and typed and listened. Actually looking at the TV was too stressful.

I agree that Favre should have tucked it in and taken the sure yards for the FG attempt on that last GB play in regulation. It was one of his only bad decisions of the day, but it cost him a trip to the Super Bowl. Sadly, getting that one key decision RIGHT and getting to the Super Bowl is the main reason he was signed...

GB?
Live by the Favre, die by the Favre.
I am so glad it ****ed it up!!!
Again.
ACK!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!
Yeah... it is interesting that his last pass for his former two teams was an interception. But then again, we are talking about the career leader for interceptions
Listening to the talking heads last night, they were talking about that if he retires, he should be remembered for his gutty performance, and not the interception
If he retires, teams can focus on Peterson even more.

Yes, then instead of hearing about Farve's interceptions, we can hear about Peterson's fumbles.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
