I cant help but think that resting Manning and the others was a mistake. We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

I was really hoping that this might be the year someone went undefeated. Just to get those crotchety old Dolphins to STFU.Originally posted by SlowwHand View PostHA! And the Colts may fall. What a day.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Why? We don't even have to discuss the possibility of avoiding a needless injury. Why is it a mistake to rest them? Do you just think it, or is there a reason for it?Originally posted by SpencerH View PostI cant help but think that resting Manning and the others was a mistake.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Winning is a mental not a physical exercise and its bad psychology to **** with a winning team.We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

While there is truth in what you say... the risk of injury is something you can't ignore. Let's see... Manning or some other key players being injured vs messing with their mojo... If Manning were injured, the odds are, Indy's season would be toast. These guys do need to play just enough to stay sharp, but anything beyond that is just to big of a risk to take at this stage of the season.Originally posted by SpencerH View PostWinning is a mental not a physical exercise and its bad psychology to **** with a winning team.Keep on Civin'

But Manning basically hasn't missed a game in his career. He's kinda Favre-like that way. I would have left him in as long as the game was undecided.
I wonder how much he'll play in Week 17.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Did you see the body language of the starters sitting on the bench? They were pissed and so were the fans. IIRC, Indy did the same thing a few years back which resulted in their losing in their first playoff game. If I were a betting man, I'd suspect that Indys post-season may already be over.
What are the choices now for the Buffalo game? Pull the staters again and possibly lose to Buffalo (what effect would that have on the team d'you think) or keep em in and beat Buffalo (which compounds the stupidity of this decision since the thought will then be "we could've had a perfect season if they had just let us play").
IMO this was a classic mistake made by "bean-counters" who havent been high-level athletes themselves and therefore dont truly understand that players are not stats. We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

I guess the coach doesn't play Fantasy Football!
I lost $150 because of his decision!
It was for the championship though... I still won $200.
Yaay for me!
The only season Indy didn't rest their players at the end of the regular season heading in to the playoffs, was the season they won the super bow. Horrible decision, but then, I'm biased.

Phantom holding call on the McGahee TD.I disagree on the officiating. What I saw was a lack of discipline by the Ravens, with over 100 yds in penalties. Plus Mason dropping an easy TD, wide open. They deserved to lose.
Oh, and you forgot about that armbar on Heap in the endzone.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.
