    • Berz and Forte's Firemen are right behind you though, for hard luck.
Depends on how it works out tonight. If he loses, yeah it'll be hard luck. If not, It'll be mine.

I've lost to number 3 scoring and number 1 scoring back to back. 145 and I still lose? Man.

        • It's all about matchups -- both within the league and IRL for your players.

The good news is, be play a balanced schedule -- 13 games in the regular season. So no one has to play the top-scoring team twice. That can be brutal (as most of us know). We're still at the mercy of how that schedule plays out with injuries, weird weather and the general unpredictability of the NFL from week to week. But at least every team plays every other team exactly once.

          • I would point out that like any team, you're just an injury or two away from disaster.

Not sure what you're talking about with the sack for the safety. The -0.5 points was certainly charged (I watched it update). The safety itself doesn't cost me anything.

Something to raise for next year! I think -2 for each safety conceded would be reasonable.

                • Why? I don't see a reason to penalize an offensive player for a safety. Players don't get penalized more for fumbles that result in TDs than for fumbles that are just recovered, after all... we don't need to penalize everyone for everything. I probably wouldn't even penalize for sacks, myself - although those are sometimes the QB's fault, probably more of the time they're more the OL's fault [ie, Monday] and/or the defense's skill alone.

                  • The idea behind -0.5/sack for the QB was to make it the equivalent of an incomplete pass. Because the play is, after all, an attempt to pass.

I don't think Yahoo even has an option to penalize the victim of a sack. Of course, that's an IIRC...

                    • Big Tuna predictions for week 5.

I went 6-1 last week, missing my own game, and I am now 17-11.

This week is the matchup of some of the big dogs in the league.

                      Jag (1) vs EPW (3).

EPW is actually favoured here, but this is a very good matchup. Schaub vs. Roethlisberger? The difference is that Jag has all the matchups, while EPW has Ronnie Brown against the very good NYJ's defense. That will be the difference maker as Jag scoops up a close one to go 5-0. (Edit, on second look, Jag is going to give EPW an asswhupping).

Snoopy (4) at Slowwy (2). This matchup comes out with Palmer against Flacco. I'm surprised that Palmer is ranked so low. Baltimore is a fine defense, but not so good against the pass anymore. I think Palmer will pass for around 30, and that will be enough for Slowwy to run up the table 5-0. Don't be surprised if this game goes to the wire.

Next up is the battle of the D's. DDD is favoured by 8 one hundredth's of a point over Koya. It won't be that close. Kevin Smith rated as a 12 against the Steeler defense? Ain't gonna happen. I'm still not impressed with Warner, but he should get enough points to get deviations over the hump to his first win of the year.

Next up is Spaced Cowboy against the newly minted Jerome Harrison boys. Better, but still, not good enough to close the gap. Spaced Cowboy in another blowout to go 3-2 and join the elite of the league.

Yet another very, very close matchup. JRabbit vs Zopper. JRabbit is the lucky stiff who gets to play the Bresus-less Zopper. It's almost as if he planned it. Oh wait, Sweet baby Cutler is out too. That sucks. Bresus leads from the bench and pulls Zopper up over JRabbit, as he has all the favourable matchups for the week. Zopper wins a tight one to go 3-2, and join the top half of the league.

Finally we have the Manning bowl between Tuberski and Berz. I'm going to pick an upset here in favour of Tuberski. 15 points for Leon washington against Miami? Can't see that happening. I think Eli will get close to 40 against Oakland, and that should be enough to close the Gap for Tuberski. Tuberski in a shocker to deny Berz a chance to go over .500.

Now we get to the most anticipate matchup. After a tight loss last week, I have LT, Rivers, Gates, Jackson, Colston and Kaeding out on offense. On top of that combine it with an injury to Polamalu, and you have 7 starters out for me. I managed to scrape together 117 points, even with Delhomme on offense, as it looks like Hasslebeck will be back. I'm now your mortal enemy. I'm just thankful it's Guynemer I play. We both started out 2-0, fell to 2-2, but this week, one losing streak will be broken. I figure I'll get 5 from Wake and 25 from Delhomme, enough to win. Oddly enough, I need some big weeks from my RBs, and Guynemer has some bad matchups, Pittsburgh, Miami and the niners run d's. Ouch. I go 3-2 and climb back to 6th.

                              • Up by 35 and I have 75 points already. Kellen Winslow is just destroying me. 26 points! He outscored my QB!

Duke has a chance to beat Spaced. I have him down by 3 based on the projections. Should depend on whomever gets the score in OT!

You have to be happy with 27 points from Miles Austin! Unless Schaub totally craps out for you, you should win.

Edit 35.7 points for Miles Austin. Insane.
