DE Julius Peppers managed only two tackles against Atlanta and the criticism is starting to come his way. Peppers is making more than $1 million per game and the expectations here among fans are very high.

I'm kinda sticking my nose in here but I have a theoretical question.

First off I wanna say I had no problem with that trade. My question is, If I did have a problem and *****ed does the commish have the right to stop a trade? If so how is this decision based? Is it as simple as whether or not the commish likes the trade? What if the commish is involved in the trade?

In other leagues I have played in a majority of the players had to vote against a trade to void it. Since we aren't doing that here, I thought all trade were allowed.

I doubt any of this will ever really come up and I'm not trying to cause any problems. I am just curious as to the procedure.

NP, DD. It seldom comes up, mostly because historically, there aren't many trades in this league. The main idea is to prevent cellar-dwellers from helping their playoff-bound friends with sweetheart deals.

When a trade is made, Yahoo treats it as a proposed trade and sends a notice to all league members by email. You should have received one on the Forte-Gore deal. If anyone objects to the fairness of the trade, they are supposed to notify the commish within 48 hours.

If someone were to object, I would start a discussion in the thread, inviting all and sundry to weigh in. Once that is complete, I would make a ruling. And yes, the commish has the right to stop a trade.

My POV on this is that mutually agreed trades should be allowed as a default. (If I do nothing in 48 hours, Yahoo puts the trade through.) But if someone thinks something fishy is going on, there should be an open and public discussion. As I stated, I don't expect any problems; we've never had any along these lines.

The only time I would take an activist role would be if non-playoff teams start discarding good players as the playoffs approach, especially if they are all snatched up by the same team, especially if it was after the trade deadline. I've only seen that happen once (not at Poly), and it realy sucked. That being said, I fully expect to see the occasional high draft pick get released over the course of the season. It happens. But if they're not performing, injured, or whatever, that's to be expected.

Gore has had a hell of a start to the year. I'd take him over Forte. He got hurt today though.

The reasons I wanted the trade:

- Gore had played relatively easy defenses, while Forte had played two of the league's absolute best defenses.

- Forte was a higher draft pick to start, and was thought of as the better player at the beginning of the season.

- Much of Gore's point total came on a few flukey long plays. Other than those, the Niners offense had been awful through two weeks.

- Gore is a historically injury-prone back.

- Gore had a small ankle injury when I dealt him.

The big huge counterargument was that Gore had outscored Forte about 3 to 1 over the first two weeks. It looks like I'm going to "win" the trade handily because Gore got himself injured, but I claim that the Niners rush offense was in for a decline, and the Bears rush offense is going to dramatically improve.

I've had that problem as well. Direct bookmark to your team or league page is the way to go in peak hours.
