I was all set to take a RB2 but had a change of heart. Calvin has put up great numbers with horrible teams his first two years, and he's a physical freak. If Stafford gets his legs under him, Megaton's upside is enormous. So I bit.

No intent to screw Guy -- after all, he drafts before me on the odd rounds. Pretty funny to see two Detroit guys going so early though.

I sure hope so. I still wonder if the Lions should have gone for Curry or a lineman and then tried to get Tebow next year. *shrug*

As for the early picks for Detroit, while certainly a horrible team, the Lions (imho) are a lot better than their record last year indicated. I'm optimistic they can get at least 5 wins this year.

OK, here's the deal. Duke asked for "informed BAPAYs" -- which I'm interpreting to mean, use our BAPAY rules (sort by Actual), select the position taken intelligently, and reject any player that is an obviously stupid pick.

Reggie Wayne fits all of that -- except he's 8th on the Actual list at WR.

The choices are:
WR -- Steve Smith, Roddy White
RB -- Thomas Jones, Marshawn Lynch, Ronnie Brown
QB -- Jay Cutler, Kurt Warner

Smith has a shoulder but is supposed to be ready for Week 1.
Taking TJones this high is stupid; Lynch would be way better but is suspended for the first 3 weeks IIRC.
Cutler would be a panic move in round 2.

So I see the options as: Steve Smith, Roddy White, Marshawn Lynch.

Today's news: Smith's X-rays are negative, and he is no longer in a sling. Good enough for me.
