Yes, that would be tremendous value. Which is why it will never happen.
Assuming Brady is healthy, clearly NE wants to trade Cassel. Offering him the non-exclusive franchise tag on the first day of free agency gives them maximum time to seek a deal. In fact, Cassel's agent will probably be encouraged to go out seeking one, which would have to include a long-term contract and compensation to the Pats.
Virtually every GM hates New England and, even if they need a QB, will do almost anything to avoid helping them.
NO ONE has given up two #1s in any deal in many years. I'm sure they have a plan, but no way do the Pats end up with that much for Cassel. No effing way.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

QFT. I mean, Hell, Randy Moss was dealt for a 3rd round pick and wasn't T.O. traded for a 2nd? I can't see someone giving up TWO 1st round picks for Cassel.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Moss & TO were (brain-) damaged goods, which is why their value was low. Many people might not give up two 1st rounders for Cassel, but never underestimate the possibility of GMs to act stupidly. Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. - Ben Franklin

I don't know about two firsts, but it seems like the Schaub deal is the absolute low end. A few things I've read say that bidding will start at a 1+3 and go up based on the weak draft class at QB. I'd be happy if they can get a 1+3 this year, giving them 2 1s, 2 2s, and 3 3s (assuming they get a 3 for Asante)."In the beginning was the Word. The Raiders spent it wisely on the legendary John Bowie.
Of course, a package including two first-round picks is ridiculous, but everything's negotiable. I think Koy makes a good point with his scenario. I think a Favre-esque scenarion is also possible, i.e. one R1 pick and a conditional pick for next year's draft depending on results achieved.

I now think Detroit will take Matthew Stafford. If they hadn't taken WR's with #1 for the last 100 years, maybe Crabtree; but the Rams will grab Crabtree.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Jeff Reed is in trouble with the police over some towels, but not the Terrible kind waved by his fans.
Pennsylvania state police say Reed threw a temper tantrum at a Sheetz convenience store in New Alexandria, a tiny borough about 35 miles east of Pittsburgh, because its restroom didn't have any towels.
Reed has been cited for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, offenses similar to traffic tickets that carry a maximum fine of $300 and 90 days in jail each. Police said he broke the towel dispenser then used profane language to an employee and also outside the store.
"Reed caused damage to a towel dispenser as he was infuriated at the fact that there were no towels in it," according to a news release by Trooper Shawn Askins, who issued the citations. The incident occurred Saturday about 2:50 a.m.
A message left on an answering machine at Reed's home was not immediately returned.
Steelers spokesman Dave Lockett said the team wouldn't have any immediate comment.
"We're still gathering information right now," Lockett said Saturday.
Reed made 27 of 31 field goals and 36 of 37 PATs for 117 points in his seventh season with the Steelers, which was capped by Pittsburgh's 27-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals in the Super Bowl.
Reed has made nearly 83 percent of his field goals (162 of 196) and scored 733 points for the Steelers in his career.

Wow, interesting dilemma.
I'm surprised that the Patriots don't do the same thing the Chargers did with Brees and Rivers, by keeping Cassell while trading Brady. He did very well last year even if they missed the playoffs.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.
